Immigration from Hong Kong
There was a long and persistent "Japanese invasion" in the coastal history of Zhejiang, which was regarded as "an invasion of China by Japanese pirates in the Ming Dynasty". However, under the shadow of the century-old orthodox view of history, many historical facts also reveal a faint light that cannot be concealed-the so-called "Japanese pirates" are actually a group of misunderstood China maritime merchants, and behind their concealed identity and fate are the confrontation, struggle and rout between China's once powerful folk maritime forces and the farming dynasty. ...
The historical fog in the museum
Zhoushan Archipelago in Zhejiang Province, with many islands and excellent harbors, is at the crossroads of many Chinese and foreign air routes, so it has become one of the most intense areas where the conflict between China's civil maritime forces and the farming dynasty has been fierce, leaving many so-called "anti-Japanese" sites such as Shuangyu, Putuo, Ligang and cengang. Up to now, China maritime merchants who fought for the freedom of maritime trade are still regarded as "enemies", and their battle with officers and men "filled with smoke and the sea is red" is still described by local museums as an invasion by foreign enemies who were finally defeated by "national heroes". Shuangyu Port in Zhoushan, the World Trade Center collapsed 500 years ago.
In the midwinter of 20 1 1, I came to Liuheng Island in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. Compared with the main island of Zhoushan, where the construction speed is changing with each passing day, it is cold and remote, and the cold wind on the sea seems to blow through the bones. There is a village called Zeng Qi in the ravine. In winter, the fields are decadent and empty, with only sporadic green.
I traveled nearly a thousand kilometers here to pursue an ancient legend. More than 500 years ago, this place had a name that shocked China and foreign countries-Shuangyu Port. According to historical records, Chinese and foreign merchant ships gather here, and silver is rolling, which is called "16th century Shanghai" by historians.
But when talking about Shuangyu with the female taxi driver on the island, she knew nothing about it. Speaking of the enemy, she understood: "I heard that there used to be many on the island." This can't be blamed on her, because in the most prosperous years of Shuangyu Port, there was an extremely tragic suppression and poison-in the twenty-seventh year of Ming Jiajing (1548), Zhu Wan, both the Ming and the right deputy, sent more than 2,000 officers and men to Shuangyu Port. In the stormy sea and fog, Shuangyu maritime merchants were caught off guard, and the government forces won a great victory. After the war, Zhu Wan ordered all the houses on the shore and the ships in the harbor to be burned down, and the entrance passage was blocked with sunken ships, wood and stones, and the "three lights" were implemented, making this "World Trade Center" a ruin. After the long Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was just an empty island, and no immigrants moved in until the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, Shuangyu Port, which was blocked for more than a hundred years, has turned into a low-lying valley, and has been opened up as a pastoral and pond. However, there is only an empty place name left in the once famous port, and its specific location is still controversial today.
Map of Japanese Pirate Invasion Area in Ming Dynasty
From the map of the invasion scope of the "Japanese pirates" in the Ming Dynasty, it can be seen that the so-called "Japanese pirates" invaded extremely widely and went deep into the mainland. To be more fair, the Japanese pirates in the Ming Dynasty, especially during the Jiajing period, were a fierce civil commotion and great turmoil along the coast of China caused by the barbaric sea ban, rather than a "foreign invasion" war.
The lost glory of Dagang
The port on Liu Heng Island is simple and barren, and it is hard to imagine its prosperity more than 500 years ago. At that time, Shuangyu Port was born here, which shocked both at home and abroad. It is suspended in the ocean, with superior geographical position, close to mountains and seas, and convenient for ships to enter and leave. It used to be the largest and most prosperous maritime international free trade port in Asia. However, under the cruel sea ban of the Ming Dynasty, this "World Trade Center" finally vanished, leaving only a glorious history. Photography/Yuan
This tragic battle of Shuangyu Port is one of the most famous "anti-Japanese" battles recorded in mainstream history books. Like a ship anchor, it was deeply thrown into the sea of years of Daming's "Japanese invasion", and no important tracing can bypass it. For this protracted war, the definition given by the orthodox historical view is that a foreign invasion war headed by Japanese pirates almost ran through the whole Ming Dynasty in time, starting from Liaodong in the north, reaching Leizhou and Hainan in Guangdong in the south, and covering all the coastal provinces of China.
