Applicants in the first category need to meet the following conditions and will be selected first:

3. The annual personal income of the adult children of the guarantor is at least NZ $65,000, or the annual family income is at least NZ $90,000;

The second category (tier 2) applicants need to meet the following requirements:

And in the future, the New Zealand government will consider extending the five-year guarantee obligation to 10 year. At present, the exact revision time is still uncertain.
