High score asked about the right of abode in Sweden.

I hope the following answers are useful to you:

If you plan to live with your relatives in Sweden, you need to get a residence permit. For example, you are married or plan to live with a person with permanent resident status in Sweden. This also applies to unmarried minors under 18.

If you are married or plan to live with a person with permanent resident status in Sweden, we will arrange an interview with you after submitting the application form.

If you are a minor under 18, unmarried and your parents are Swedish residents, you need to prove that you and your parents lived together before moving to Sweden.

If your children or close relatives now live in Sweden, in addition to parents, children and couples, under special circumstances, relatives of other relationships may also obtain residence permits. However, you need to prove that you lived together before your relatives moved to Sweden, and you are very dependent on them. Separation will bring you many difficulties. This means that you depend on this Swedish relative for economic, emotional or social communication.

How long will it take to get the application results?

The processing time of the application may be as long as one year, depending on the type of residence permit you applied for, the number of applications at that time and other factors.

We will interview you as soon as possible after receiving your application. In the case of complete information, the interview is usually arranged within 4 to 6 weeks after submitting the application. Your information will be transferred to the Swedish Immigration Bureau for decision. This process may take about 4 weeks. The Immigration Bureau will arrange an interview with your relatives in Sweden or mail a questionnaire survey.

How long is the residence permit valid?

If you and your relatives live together in China for a long time, the Immigration Bureau will generally grant you a permanent residence permit (PUT). This means that you can stay in Sweden for any length of time.

If you and your relatives do not live together in China, but plan to live together in Sweden, the Immigration Bureau will generally give you a residence permit of 12 months (sometimes 6 months). So when the license expires, you must apply for an extension. If you still live with your relatives in Sweden, your permission will be extended by 12 months (or 6 months).

If you have reached working age, you will automatically get a work permit at the same time as your residence permit.

Those who have obtained a limited residence permit for 2 years and still have relations with relatives (such as husband and wife, cohabitation) can obtain a permanent residence permit.
