Canada gives birth to children and becomes citizens.

The Canadian government has never abolished the naturalization policy for local children, and there is no indication that this rule will be abolished. However, the China Consulate has the following two explanations:

1. China children born in Canada should apply for a Chinese visa with a Canadian passport if one or both parents have been naturalized in Canada or have obtained permanent resident status in Canada (holding a maple leaf card).

Second, children born in China in Canada, if both parents are China citizens (who have not joined foreign nationality), and neither of them has obtained permanent resident status in Canada (no maple leaf card), and the children have China nationality, they should apply for a Passport of the People's Republic of China or a Travel Permit of the People's Republic of China.

You can see the detailed instructions on the visa page of the website of the Consulate General of China in Toronto. I saw this note when I applied for a Chinese visa for my baby a month ago.

However, an intermediary said that you can choose China or Canadian citizenship, so you should consult the Canadian Immigration Bureau and the Embassy of China. I've never done this before.
