In April 20 18, the safety construction project of flood storage and detention area in Honghu East Block built a safety zone in Xintan, and used the existing safety zone in Xintan to carry out population transfer and resettlement. The population transfer plan is to adopt permanent transfer.

The flood storage project of Honghu East Block is one of the national 172 major water conservancy projects. At present, the main embankment reinforcement project, Dongjing River embankment reinforcement project, Taokou flood gate project, Yaokou pumping station project and Gaotankou Second Station project have started construction.
