Establishment of Provisional Provincial Party Committee in Fujian-Zhejiang Border Region in Nanyang Incident

In 1935, the Advance Division entered the southwest of Zhejiang Province to carry out guerrilla struggle, and established a guerrilla base area in southwest Zhejiang Province. In August of the same year, Kuomintang troops began to suppress guerrilla base areas in southwest Zhejiang. In order to avoid its sharp edge, the advancing division moved to Jingyuan, Qingyuan, Songxi, Zhenghe and Jianyang areas at the border between Fujian and Zhejiang provinces. On October 5th, more than 1 people led by Su Yu and Liu Ying joined forces with Mindong Special Committee in Zhengjiakeng, Shouning County, Fujian Province.

At that time, the Mindong Special Committee lost contact with the Central Committee because of the cruelty of the struggle after the Long March of the Central Red Army. Because these leaders abandoned the wrong guidance of Wang Ming's "Left" line and formulated corresponding policies according to the actual situation of the revolutionary struggle in eastern Fujian at that time, the revolutionary regime was restored in Xiading (Xiapu and Fuding) and coastal areas one after another, and new guerrilla zones were opened in Pingnan, Gutian, Zhenghe and parts of Zhejiang. The grass-roots organizations of the party have been distributed to various important villages in the old and new areas, and the revolutionary situation in eastern Fujian has become active again. After joining forces with the advancing division, the Mindong Special Committee held a joint meeting with the political commissar of southwest Zhejiang headed by Comrade Liu Ying. At the meeting, Ye Fei offered to accept the leadership of the advancing division on behalf of the Mindong Special Committee, and Comrade Liu Ying also accepted it. The two sides immediately * * * formed a temporary provincial party committee along the Fujian-Zhejiang border. Liu Ying, secretary of the temporary provincial party committee, Su Yu, minister of organization, Ye Fei, minister of propaganda and secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, Ruan Yingping, Shifan, Xu Wang and others also held corresponding positions, and the temporary provincial party committee consisted of eleven people. At the same time, the Fujian-Zhejiang Military Region was established, with Su Yu as commander and political commissar Liu Ying. Due to the loss of the base area in southwest Zhejiang at that time, the Mindong Special Committee assigned Dingping area and Dingping Independent Group to the Advance Division, which was later the southern Zhejiang area. Liu Ying will be the first division of Fujian-Zhejiang Independent Division and the second division of Mindong Independent Division.
