A female student studying as a nurse in New Zealand's overseas study experience.
I have been in New Zealand for four and a half years, and PR has just been approved. Looking back on the experience in New Zealand over the years, I can't stand it, but after all, I have no regrets, just a little bitter. Share it with you.
When I first came 19 years old. Not long ago, I graduated from high school and lived in a homestay at school. I have lived in two houses, but fortunately they are all good to me and have not been abused, haha. At that time, I remember every class reunion, saying how stepmother and father treated themselves, some refused to eat, some ignored themselves and so on. In a word, my two families are very kind to me and I am very grateful to them.
A year later, I entered a university in Auckland to study nursing. When I first entered school, many people asked me the same question-why did you study nursing? I don't think I need to tell you, for the sake of immigration. But when the teacher asked, I had to say this: because I like helping others. Hehe, it's a bit grandiose. But the more I learn, the more I like this job. I feel that I am integrated into the society here. My English has also improved a lot. I remember I was at a loss when I first entered the hospital as an intern. I don't understand what the patient said or what I said. Some simple words, such as wiping the patient's body, turning over and walking, can't be said. I was depressed for a while, but I soon learned it. Sometimes I giggle at patients when I can't speak, to let people know that I am happy to help them first. The effect is good, but it depends on the occasion. If the patient is crying or angry, it is different. In this way, I worked as an intern in the hospital and got a job as a nurse. In a word, I learned a lot. The teachers at school are also very concerned about me.
I finally breathed a sigh of relief after reading for three years. Because my boyfriend and I have a dog, we have moved many times. At first, I didn't know that I had to go through the landlord's consent. When I first came to New Zealand, I saw that the landlord had a cat and thought we could get a pet. The landlord quit when he bought the dog, saying that either the dog left or you all left. In this way, we began a painful and happy life. I haven't lived in every place for a long time, at most 3 months, at least 3 weeks, and I have met many unscrupulous landlords. Unfortunately, I finally moved to a good place. The landlord has something urgent to return to China and the house is for sale. In this way, after two years, we moved to a foreign family. His wife comes from China and likes our dog very much, so we left the dog in their house when we moved away. You have a good home. Now that I think about our dog's letter, it still hurts, and I always feel sorry for her. Because our ignorance made her suffer with us. A year later, the family went to Australia and never heard from again. I don't know where the dog is. Later, we moved to a family where we could have a dog. We can't help it anymore, and now we have two dogs. Now we live in a friend's house and finally settle down.
My boyfriend and I applied for cohabitation at Christmas. We have lived together for more than three years and experienced so much together. Although we are young, we feel like an old couple. Now public relations has also declined. I am now working in a public hospital in Oakland. I think it's ok. Sometimes I get bullied, on the one hand, because I'm new here, on the other hand, it's a bit racist. Fortunately, most of my colleagues get along well. I think I will meet such people in any job. Sometimes I make mistakes, but when I find out the reason, my colleagues will forgive me. That's what happens in hospitals. If you always think of others and help others, no matter how cruel people are, they will be moved by you. Teamwork is emphasized here. Head nurses don't like overconfident people when recruiting new people, thinking that such people are too opinionated and difficult to get along with.
The new goal now is to buy a house and have a bunch of children. My experience should be similar to that of most international students. Well, after all that, I'm a little incoherent. Anyway, keep fighting. A better tomorrow depends on your own efforts.
Basically, 99% of those who can graduate and pass the registration exam can find jobs. If you don't pass the registration exam, you can't work in a public hospital, but you can only work as a nurse in a nursing home, which is between registered nurses and registered nurses. I'm not sure. Don't worry, as long as you can graduate, you can find a job. Now many international students in China choose this major. What I want to tell you is:
1, English is important, but whether it is a school teacher or an employer, the most important thing is your quality. Some students in China fail not because of their poor English, but because sometimes they are too smart and adopt the domestic habit of treating people. If you do something behind your back, once it is found, it will be stained. People here are especially honest and won't turn a blind eye, especially those life-threatening occupations. In a word, it is right to treat people sincerely.
It will be uncomfortable at first, especially when I just went to the hospital for internship. But get used to it for a while, don't be afraid.
3. Choose a good teacher. Pay attention to the nurse when you go to a new place. Some of them are willing to take students, while others are unwilling. Some people who are willing but poor in ability are not the objects of study, and sometimes even lead you astray. Once you have chosen the target, take the initiative to talk to her and ask her if she would like to take you. Don't hesitate, or time will pass quickly and you will learn nothing.
Although there are many homework and exams, you shouldn't write blindly. You should be optimistic about what the teacher wants before writing. In short, write early, don't wait until three days ago to start writing.
In the third year, the importance of internship increased. If you don't pass the internship, everything else is useless. We must pay attention to the failure of the internship and the discussion.
6. When you are not busy and have nothing to do during the internship, don't do your own homework and ask others if you want help. The teacher's evaluation of the nurse is very important, because she can't visit you all the time. If a nurse accuses you, it will be miserable. Although some people ignore you, they look at you with their eyes. So try to get on well with everyone and help others in the hospital will be very grateful to you. Because the work of nurses is very tiring.
Apart from the advantages of immigration, I believe I still like this profession in my heart. Although the work is very tiring, my colleagues are trivial matters. It is very comfortable to see the patient say thank you for your help. This is the biggest reward.
