Danzhou, a prefecture-level city in Hainan Province, is a central city in western Hainan and an efficient agricultural base with tropical characteristics approved by Hainan Provincial People's Government. Danzhou City is located in the northwest of Hainan Province, on the east bank of Beibu Gulf. Its geographical coordinates are1911'~1952', 108 56'~ 109 46', east. It is adjacent to Beibu Gulf in the north and west, and faces Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Democratic Republic of Viet Nam and China across the sea (about 160 nautical mile apart).
