How about studying abroad? Is it safe?

I have been hearing more than n students and parents ask me this question. Is America safe? We should go to a safe place to study. I have always held the same view: there is no real security in this world. If you don't strengthen your common sense of safety and awareness of prevention, it is not safe anywhere. Before, many students would tell me when choosing a school: I don't choose Chicago because there are too many black people there. Some parents told me that we only go to places where we can fly directly, and we don't want to transfer or transfer. Well, most of the better schools in America are in various villages. . . Some students will say to me after getting the admission book: teacher, please help me tell the school that I don't want to share a dormitory with black people. Well, how to send an email to the academic staff of American universities? Isn't this bloody discrimination? . . After I graduated from the United States with a master's degree, in order to accumulate internship experience, I studied MBA at the University of Illinois in Chicago and worked as an intern in a company in Chicago. I admit, there are more blacks in Chicago, but I was safe during my study and internship there. I think Chicago is quite good. (At least it is the second largest financial and trade vocational zone in the United States ~) I would like to tell many female students, including male students, the self-security creed I have always followed: 1. At night 10:30, I will never appear alone in the street again. If there is a party in the evening and I want to go home late, I will definitely invite my friends to go, or trouble them to send it; 2. No matter day or night, I won't take the path and remote street alone to save distance; 3. Before going to a completely strange place, I will know the public security index of the local street in advance, look at the street view, and know the distance and route to take online; I will insure the place where I live, because the theft rate is still very high in big cities in America, including Beijing; I will check the closed doors and windows at home again before going to bed every day. I think girls should always be vigilant. I am serious. I can tell a story from my own experience. I remember once, I went to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to play with my good friend (a weak and lovely girl). I omitted the famous people and buildings in this place. It is also a safer place in my mind. In order to find a good place to find on Google Maps in advance, my good friend and I kept walking and walking, and found that we came to a very narrow road with broken sneakers hanging on the roadside signs and lampposts. This small street is very quiet, few people are there, and then we see several young black people smoking not far ahead and watching us. I swear, my nerves were tied. I didn't think much. I pulled my good friend around and ran back to the busy street. Later, I went back and asked my American classmates. They said that many drug dealers would hang a pair of broken sneakers on lampposts, which was a code word to attract business. Let's take a detour when we see such a small street in the future. After this incident, I came to the conclusion that my curiosity and adventurous spirit in a dangerous environment were not so great, so I lived abroad for six or seven years, which was very smooth and safe.
