Where is the ancestral home of Guizhou people? Why are there so many Han people in Guizhou?
The expansion of China
As for ancient China, there has been a saying since ancient times that the oldest China only includes Henan Province. Since then, successive dynasties have continued to expand and finally established today's territory in the Qing Dynasty. At the same time, with the expansion of territory, rulers of past dynasties forced people to emigrate for various reasons. For example, in the Han Dynasty and the Emperor Gaozu era, they forced these people to move to Guanzhong in order to prevent the remnants of the old nobles from overthrowing the Han Dynasty like the Qin Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, in order to strengthen the power of the imperial court, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty also forcibly moved the local strongmen to Guanzhong.
In addition, more immigrants came from post-war reconstruction, such as Guizhou immigrants in the early Ming Dynasty.
Guizhou Millennium
In the history of China, because there were too many mountains, Guizhou was once regarded as a wild land by scholars in the Central Plains, and even the idiom "Donkeys have no special skills" was forgotten. The history of Guizhou puzzles most people.
Guizhou and Yunnan in the Qin and Han Dynasties were considered as part of the "Southwest Yi". During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the Han Dynasty established a tributary relationship with the barbarians in the southwest, leaving an "arrogant" allusion: Yelang asked the envoys of the Han Dynasty: Is the Han Dynasty the biggest or Yelang country? Later generations laughed at Yelang for not seeing the world. But if we look at the geography of Yunnan and Guizhou, we may understand how inconvenient it is to build Yelang country in mountainous areas. It is quite difficult for a king in a deep mountain to have a deep understanding of the outside world.
Since then, Guizhou has been ruled by local officials for generations, and the emperors in the Central Plains have been constantly changing, and wars have been frequent. Because of its special geographical location, Guizhou can always avoid the influence of these wars, which may be regarded as a kind of happiness for Guizhou locals. These all changed at the end of the yuan dynasty.
After Zhu Yuanzhang established the Ming Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty entered the Northern Yuan Dynasty. Although the Northern Yuan was called the Northern Yuan by later generations, many chieftains in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places accepted the order of the Northern Yuan. In order to prevent the Northern Yuan from coming back, Zhu Yuanzhang decided to cut off the influence of the Northern Yuan in the southwest. This is the historical event that the Ming army conquered Yunnan and Guizhou.
Jiangxi immigrants
After the Ming Dynasty established its rule in Yunnan and Guizhou, Zhu Yuanzhang believed that if the Ming Dynasty wanted to control Yunnan and Guizhou for a long time, it needed to station troops in Yunnan and Guizhou. Zhu Yuanzhang named his adopted son Muying as a famous wooden house in Yunnan. In addition, the Ming Dynasty set up a large number of military camps in Yunnan and Guizhou, among which a large number of soldiers came from Jiangxi. Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the soldiers to take their families to the barracks, where they could reproduce. As a result, Guizhou had the earliest immigrants from Jiangxi.
In addition, due to Jiangxi's overpopulation, the Ming Dynasty formulated a series of policies to allow a part of Jiangxi's surplus population to live in Guizhou. Generally speaking, these soldiers and civilians are Han ancestors in Jiangxi and Guizhou.
It is said that Ji 'an was the most populous state capital in Jiangxi at that time, and some people said that Ji 'an was a transit point for Jiangxi immigrants to enter Guizhou in the Ming Dynasty. Therefore, many Jiangxi Han people in Guizhou claim that their ancestors came from Ji 'an area, and the so-called Dashilan and Daqiaotou are usually considered as important symbols of Ji 'an.
