Mom's bank account

I just finished reading a book the other day, called "Mom's Bank Account". Katherine Forbes is an American writer, originally from Norway. This short book is a collection of short stories that she created with her family experience as the background. 17 short stories in the book are all related to "mom". Through these short stories, we review the hard life of a Norwegian family who immigrated to the United States. Although the conditions are difficult, the family is happy, warm and harmonious. Under the influence of their mother's positive and indomitable spirit, they overcame the difficulties one by one and gradually merged from the poor into the mainstream society.

The first short story at the beginning is mom and her bank deposit. Mom has always said that she has an account in the bank, and there is a deposit in it, which she usually doesn't use. In fact, my mother doesn't have any bank account at all, and she can't save any money because of the embarrassment of life.

There are seven people in a family with five children. My father is a carpenter alone, and my mother is a housewife, taking care of the children at home. The meager income is barely enough to maintain a simple life. Under such circumstances, the beautiful lies of the mother's secret bank account make the children's hearts settle down and grow up happily without worry.

When the child grew up and deposited the money in the bank, the mother said that she could not deposit money and had never set foot in the bank. "Children are worried because they have no money, which is not good." This simple sentence expresses a mother's deep love for her children.

The story of my mother and my uncle Chris showed me my mother's kindness and tolerance. Uncle Chris is a lame man with a bad temper. He has never been married and has no children. He has been running around doing business all his life, but he has never seen money. Because of his bad temper, he is mean to everyone, and menstruation hates him very much. Even when he was dying, he didn't want to visit him during menstruation. In the last days of Uncle Chris, his mother was always there to take care of him. After Uncle Chris left, they wanted to divide his inheritance, but they were disappointed. Uncle Chris's legacy is only a notebook, which records the names and amounts of polio children he helped. Such a selfish, stingy and grumpy person has a compassionate heart and spends all the money he earned in his life on helping those children who suffer from polio like him. Compared with the disappointment of menstruation, my mother simply said, "This is good, this is good."

The story of mom and metropolis shows mom's yearning for metropolis. After making some money, my father was cheated by a real estate agent to buy a small farm in the country. Although my mother didn't like it, she silently supported my father in order to fulfill his wish to be a boss. However, starting a business is not as smooth as dad imagined, and life is getting more and more embarrassing. What I admire most is that my mother didn't complain to my father and tried to sell the small farm and stop the loss in time. Finally, she sold the farm to an elderly couple, got a big house with a room in the city 1 1 and exempted them from four months' rent.

On the night of moving back to the metropolis, my mother gave birth to the youngest child. She hopes that her children will be born in a big city and receive a good education. The big house has 1 1 rooms. They can't live that much, so they rent out one room first, and then slowly decorate the second room with the rental income. In this way, they slowly rented out all the extra rooms to supplement their families. Many times, the solution is always more difficult than the reality.

The story of mother and graduation gift, I was moved by the warmth of mutual understanding between mother and son. I graduated from primary school and want a special graduation gift. My mother revealed that she wanted to give me the silver brooch left by my grandmother as a graduation present. I don't want it. I just wanted an exquisite dressing box, but it was expensive and there was no spare money at home.

When I came home from graduation, I saw my dream toilet box in my room. I have been playing there excitedly, but my brother and sister threw disdain and contempt at me. I thought it was because they were jealous of me. Later, I learned that my mother pawned the silver brooch left by my grandmother and bought this my favorite graduation gift for me.

When I know the truth, I don't want this cosmetic box anymore. I want to go to the store and exchange it for my mother's silver brooch. The store owner disagreed, and "I" begged and struggled. Finally, I succeeded in getting my mother's brooch back. The price is not only to return the dressing box, but also to work for the boss in the store to pay off debts on weekends and holidays.

The warmth between mother and daughter is very touching. Mothers love their children unconditionally, and children also know how to be grateful, cherish this love, remedy it in time with their own actions, and let love flow.

The stories told by the author are all ordinary stories of a family. They are not very exciting, but they attract me deeply. They are warm, touching or make me think. How to love children? The importance of mother's thought, pattern and personality to a family.

I will also try to be a good mother and keep love and warmth at home.
