What is the historical background of Qujing?

Qujing is one of the earliest developed areas in Yunnan history. Scientific research on ancient cultural sites such as Jiaojiandong in Xuanwei and Zhujie Eight Pagoda in Qujing confirmed that human footprints could be found in Nanpanjiang River Basin as early as the Paleolithic Age. Three or four thousand years ago, Qujing ancestors planted rice on this ancient land to create civilization. In 280 BC, General Zhuang Ti of Chu led his troops to Yunnan. Qujing was the heart of ancient Yunnan, which was called "the genus of Mimo" in history. Qin Shihuang unified China, built the Wuchi Road from Yibin, Sichuan (known as Bodao in history) to Qujing (known as Jianning in history), and put Qujing under the direct rule of the central dynasty, which thoroughly communicated the connection between ancient Yunnan and the Central Plains. Jianning County became an earlier developed area among the "Southwest Yi" tribes. In the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (BC 109), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty opened up "South China" and established Yizhou County, which governed wei county (Qujing), Mim County (Xundian), Shu Tong County (Malong) and Yinlao County (Lvliang). In 225, in the third year of Jian Xing in Shu Han Dynasty, Zhuge Nan conquered "South China", changed Yizhou County to Jianning County, moved the capital to Wei County (Qujing) and took charge of "South China". At this time, "South China" included the whole province of Yunnan and parts of southern Sichuan and western Guizhou, and Qujing became the political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan and a part of southern Sichuan and western Guizhou. Until the seventh year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (748), Nanzhao was destroyed, Qujing was under the jurisdiction of Tuodong, and the political center of Yunnan moved westward to Dali, ending Qujing's position as the center of Yunnan for more than 500 years. Since then, Shicheng County was set up in Qujing during the Dali Kingdom period of the Song Dynasty, which governed more than ten departments including Momi. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Qujing Road, Qujing House and Yidong Road were successively set up, which has always been the political, economic and cultural center of eastern Yunnan. In the history of more than 600 years, the Central Plains culture has been passed down frequently, officers and men have emigrated, a large area of land has been reclaimed, villages in Nanpanjiang River basin are dense, population has suddenly increased, and the commercial market has flourished, which has laid a good foundation for the further development of eastern Yunnan. In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), Qujing prefecture was abolished and Nanning county was changed to Qujing county. In 37 years (1948), the second district supervision department was established. At the end of 1949, the whole territory of Qujing was liberated and the Qujing Commissioner's Office was established. 1954 merged with Yiliang Department to form Qujing Administrative Office Commissioner's Office. During the "Cultural Revolution", Qujing Revolutionary Committee was established, and later it was the regional administrative office. After the reform and opening up, Qujing has entered an unprecedented new period of historical development, with sustained and rapid economic development, rapid development of municipal construction and increasingly prominent status as a central city. 1On May 6th, 997, Qujing was approved by the State Council as a city. 10 year 10 mid-to-late, the first party congress, people's congress and CPPCC meeting in Qujing were held one after another. 1October 7th, 165438, Qujing was officially listed, with jurisdiction over 8 counties, L District of L City and 139 townships.
