Hui nationality is a minority with a large population in our national family. According to 1990 national census statistics, the population of Hui nationality is 8602978, ranking fourth after Han nationality, Zhuang nationality and Manchu nationality.

Hui people are all over China. Where there are Hui people, most of them live around mosques, and there are settlements of different sizes.
