Xiaolong Yuxi River Essay

One day not long ago, it rained cats and dogs. I braved the rain to watch the dragon boat race on Yuxi River in Jiangbei. This is really an explosion of passion, and I am very happy.

Rain and fog are connected with the river, and I don't know whether it is heaven or earth when I look up. Dragon boats came to Yuxi River from all directions, like real dragons swimming in the clouds. In a short time, a colorful dragon boat was paved in Bailian, which leads from east to west to Tiangong. Drums, gongs and songs in the water set off the thunder of the Heavenly Palace, and firecrackers, laughter and shouts on the shore shook the waterfront together.

In the rain and fog, a white dragon swam into my sight. White clothes and white towels were wet by the rain and wrapped tightly around me. The dragon head is omnipotent, and the dragon tail plays with water waves. Dozens of dragon boats on the river are clearing away the clouds. If you look closely, the dragon boats are basically the same. They are all slender stilts, the longan at the bow turns straight and the dragon beard flutters. The rain wrapped the flag on the dragon boat tightly around the flagpole. If you don't wear different colors, you can't tell who is who. According to a person nearby, the color of the dragon boat represents the totem or symbol of a clan or village. There are 32 pairs of radial hands sitting on the boat, as well as helmsman, drummer and gong player. I'm thinking that a yellow dragon braved the wind and waves and met another red dragon and blue dragon. The white dragon around him saw the yellow, red and blue dragons approaching him. In the natural encounter, it automatically takes the drum as the number, "Dong, Dong, Dong ……" In the compact drum sound, I saw my hands together, and only four colorful dragons could be distinguished in the rain and fog, on the same starting line. When we finally caught up with the fuzzy color, the four dragons stopped at a distance of several meters. What is interesting is who wins and who loses. There are no referees, no instructions, no rules, no prizes and no bonuses. After the game, laugh it off.

Although the rain is getting heavier and heavier, the incident has not weakened at all, and there is a great potential for war. After two or three short or long races, a dragon boat leans into the river. Looking closely, it turns out that it is the replacement of radial hands, each of which is supplementing its own strength. The radial hand sitting on the boat and the radial hand waiting by the river for a long time, although soaked as a drowned rat, half-opened and half-narrowed, smile like a lotus in full bloom in June, are both strong.

During the dragon boat break, some people set off firecrackers on the shore, drove to offer their love, and brought cigarettes, wine, silks and satins, as well as piles of sweatshirts. Everyone around said that this is the bride of the village daughter-in-law. Generally, old relatives are seven aunts and eight aunts. The dragon boat paddles to the door to send cigarettes and wine, and pay attention to the wrapped zongzi in case the radial hand on the dragon boat is hungry. After receiving the gift, I saw the dragon boat turn three times on the river to show my gratitude to the giver. Despite the climax of the dragon boat race, I rushed into the foggy day of fighting. That fog, that sound, that momentum, that scenery, can not help but remind me of the ancient saying, "Canglang rolls thousands of piles of snow."

In the rain and fog, I asked myself with a puzzled heart, why are the villagers on both sides of Yuxi River so interested in dragon boat racing in the rain? It turns out that dragon boat races have been popular here in history. Every year from the Dragon Boat Festival in May to the 25th of June in the lunar calendar, people are used to holding competitions on the 20-kilometer-long Yuxi River (Yongjia Town to Cao Yun Town). The villages on both sides of the river were guided by young people on a boat trip one day. At this time, the venerable elders in the village (mostly patriarchs) set off firecrackers, worshipped and burned incense to the dragon boat, and chose fine weather to paint the dragon boat with clear oil, commonly known as "tanning oil". The dragon boat is painted with shiny clear oil, and under the sunshine, it is like a real dragon waking up, realizing the farmers' wish to pray for a good weather for a year. An elder told me that since the reform and opening up, there have been more and more dragon boats in Yuxi River. In recent years, farmers have not only stepped out of the encirclement of thousands of years of tax burden, but also realized their dream of enjoying medical insurance and labor protection like workers. The two sides of the strait are constantly eliminating old dragon boats and adding new ones. In this ancient, pious and special way, they wish the great motherland prosperity.

Not only that, the dragon boat of agarwood really travels in Kyushu. Since 2006, the dragon boat teams in each natural village in Shenxiang have set up dragon boat associations to select male and female racers, and they have raised their own travel expenses to participate in competitions in major cities across the country. In 2007, Shenxiang Dragon Boat Team went to Yichang to participate in the international dragon boat race, competing with teams from more than 20 countries on the same stage. Yuxi River radial riders flew across the river and won the 35km mixed rally.

Although farmers on both sides of Yuxi River "work at sunrise and rest at sunset", they spontaneously handed down the Millennium dragon boat culture from generation to generation, which is admirable. It is with this dragon boat spirit that people on both sides of Yuxi contribute to the construction of the motherland and the prosperity of the country.

By three o'clock in the afternoon, the rain and the dragon boat were still playing. Finally, patches of rosy clouds floated out of the western sky. At this time, there are five dragons with distinct colors, six dragons and seven dragons ... facing the sunset glow in the west, they are struggling to go home. They sat on the dragon boat, waving neat radial paddles and shouting rhythmic "row up and row" ... my heart flew with singing and shouting.
