The Origin of Wangdu County in Hebei Province
Wang Du, also known as Du Qing, was named after Yaomu, the birthplace of Emperor Xun of Fang Yao. It was called Du Qing before the Han Dynasty, renamed Wang Du in the Han Dynasty and Du Qing in the Tang Dynasty. Until the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong toured Wutai Mountain and drove back, passing by Yaomuling in Du Qing, because the county name was the same as Yaomu.
