The bodies of many of Qin Shihuang’s children were not found. What is the truth about their whereabouts?
After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, the General Secretary conducted five tours around the world. During the second time, he came to Langyatai, now Shandong. At this time, Qin Shihuang saw the sea for the first time. I was so fascinated by the beautiful scenery of Langyatai that I stayed there for three months and moved 30,000 households there without any taxes. At this time, he also deeply realized that life was short, so he summoned the alchemist Xu Fu to seek the elixir of immortality for him. Qin Shihuang wanted to live forever in the world and enjoy the country he had worked so hard to build all his life, so why didn't his adult and minor children want to? But how long did his children live? There is no clear record in the history books, only some fragments of information can be inferred.
When Qin Shihuang visited the world for the fifth time, he walked to the Sand Dunes, which is now Hebei, and was already seriously ill. What followed was the Sand Dune Conspiracy that everyone is familiar with. Hu Hai, the second emperor of the Qin Dynasty, successfully became the heir to the throne with the help of his teacher Zhao Gao, Zhongchefu Ling, and Zuo Prime Minister Li Si. After an imperial edict, Fusu, a young master far away in Shangjun, committed suicide by taking poison, and Meng Tian, ??who commanded an army of 300,000, also committed suicide by taking poison. Theoretically, the throne of Qin II is now very secure, but what about his brothers and sisters? How does he treat these noble princes and princesses?
According to the records left behind, one of Qin Shihuang’s concubines gave birth to three sons, namely the young master Jiang Lu and the brothers. After Qin II usurped the throne, the three brothers carefully followed the rules all day long. They were put under house arrest by Qin II and dared not go out. But one day, Qin II still ordered the killing of the general brothers because they were disobedient. Before brother Jianglu died, he told the visitors that the three of us have been fulfilling our duties throughout our lives. We have always abided by the ancestral rules left by our ancestors. We have never dared to disobey the emperor's orders. We have never failed in any etiquette. We I just want to know what our capital crime is, where does the disobedience come from? Although the three brothers wanted to die clearly, they were still confused and brutally killed by Qin II.
According to records of Qin Shihuang’s other son, Gongzi Gao, when Qin II ascended the throne, Gongzi Gao had predicted that a catastrophe was coming, and Qin II would not let him go. He originally planned to escape, but Gongzi Gao was a filial son and his mother was still alive at the time. If he ran away, his mother would be implicated. So Gongzi Gao took the initiative to ask Qin II that he was willing to be buried with their great father Qin Shihuang. Qin II wished that his brothers and sisters would be like this, so Gongzi Gao was also buried.
In 1974, there was Shangjiao Village one kilometer east of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang. Among them, 17 large-scale A-shaped tombs were discovered here, arranged from east to west, north and south, facing the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang. Archaeologists excavated 8 of the 17 tombs. Inside, I found clothes made by Qin Shaofu. The Shaofu is the royal house of internal affairs. These things inside are royal supplies. According to the archaeological excavation report, some historians compiled the eight excavated tombs into very detailed materials, as follows: Tomb No. 7, the owner of the tomb is male, about 30 years old, with head, body, limbs separation.
The owner of Tomb No. 10 is a male, about 30 years old. The head, body, hands and foot bones are separated and placed upside down in the head compartment of the coffin room.
The owner of Tomb No. 11 is a woman, about 30 years old, with complete bones, standing upright and with straight limbs, and the upper and lower jaws move left and right.
The owner of Tomb No. 12 is a male, about 30 years old. The skull is placed on the cover of the head compartment of the coffin chamber, and the ribs and other bones are placed in the head compartment.
Tomb No. 15, the owner of the tomb is a male, about 30 years old. The head, body and limbs are separated and placed on the cover of the head compartment of the coffin room. The skull is in the messy soil outside the coffin room, with a skull inserted into the right temporal bone of the head. A copper arrowhead.
Tomb No. 16, the owner of the tomb is a male, about 30 years old. The upper body bones are in the coffin chamber, the skull is on the cover of the head compartment of the coffin chamber, and the lower limb bones are in the filling soil.
The owner of Tomb No. 17 is a woman, about 20 years old. Her head, body and lower limbs are separated, her left foot is separated from her tibia, and her arms are stretched out in a prone position.
In Tomb No. 18, there was a bronze sword but no human bones.
Among the eight tombs excavated, there were five male corpses and two female corpses. Six of them had their heads removed and were apparently tortured to death, while another woman was apparently strangled. What can be gleaned from this information? From these tombs, we can recall the history of Qin II's intention to kill his brothers and sisters after usurping the throne because he was worried that his brothers and sisters would pose a danger to his throne.
According to records, after Qin II usurped the throne, almost all of his brothers were quartered into five horses and died. The princess’s main body was quartered into five horses or strangled to death. This coincides with the unearthed tombs. And those heinous tragic scenes can perfectly explain all of this. Prince Fusu was stationed at the border in Shangjun at the time, and he was also in Shangjun thousands of miles away from Xianyang when he was given death. Therefore, this can also explain the fact that there is only a long sword in the tomb excavated but no bones.
