It is the main project of the Three Gorges Hydropower Station, the core landscape of the Three Gorges Dam tourist area and the eastern end of the Three Gorges Reservoir.

1On April 3, 1992, the Fifth Session of the Seventh National People's Congress passed the Resolution on the Construction of the Three Gorges Project, which completed the legislative procedure of the Three Gorges Project and entered the implementation stage.

On September 27th, 1993, China Three Gorges Project Development Corporation was formally established in Yichang.

1994 12 14, the Three Gorges Project officially started.

1997165438+1October 8, the Three Gorges Project was successfully intercepted and the first phase of the project was completed. After the river was cut off, the water level rose from 66 meters to 88 meters, and all the landscapes of the Three Gorges were not affected.

From 65438 to 0998, the Three Gorges Project entered the second stage of construction.

In 2000, the Three Gorges Project units began to be installed.

On June 5438+1October 10, 2002, the expert group meeting of the the State Council Three Gorges Project Phase II Acceptance Committee was held in the dam area, and the acceptance of diversion channel before river closure officially started. 101October 2 1 day, the most critical flood discharge section of the Three Gorges Dam has been completed, and the whole line has reached the dam design elevation of 185 meters above sea level. 65438125 October, the State Council held a plenary meeting of the acceptance committee of the Three Gorges Project Phase II, and agreed with the opinions of the acceptance group of the hub project on the implementation of the diversion channel closure in June 2002. 10 year1October 26th, the left bank dam of the Three Gorges with a total length of 1.6km was capped, and the whole dam has risen to the designed crest elevation of 185m. 65438+1On October 29th, Premier Zhu Rongji of the State Council presided over the 1 1 meeting of the the State Council Three Gorges Project Construction Committee, and agreed with the opinions of the the State Council Three Gorges Project Acceptance Committee, and decided to intercept and close the diversion channel on June 6th. 165438+1On October 7th, the rotor of the world's largest hydro-generator set was successfully hoisted at the Three Gorges site, marking the basic completion of the installation of the first large-scale unit in the Three Gorges, and then entered the final assembly stage. 12 16, the RCC cofferdam of the third phase of the Three Gorges Project began to be poured. The design total pouring volume of the third-stage cofferdam is 165438+ 10,000 cubic meters. Together with the downstream earth-rock cofferdam, it ensures the construction of the right bank dam, power station and non-overflow dam section, which is the key project to realize the water storage, navigation and power generation of the third-stage project.

On April 1 1 day, 2003, the navigation of the temporary ship lock of the Three Gorges Project was suspended, and the navigation of the Three Gorges waters of the Yangtze River was planned to be suspended for 67 days, and navigation was resumed on June 16. At the same time, the dam-turning and transshipment work was fully launched. On April 16, the RCC cofferdam of the Three Gorges Phase III was capped, reaching the design elevation 140m 55 days ahead of the contract period. On April 22, the reconstruction of the temporary ship lock on the left bank of the Three Gorges Project into a sand lock started. On April 27th, the second phase of the Three Gorges resettlement project passed the national acceptance. This indicates that the resettlement work of the Three Gorges Project has achieved significant phased results. Resettlement and bottom cleaning under the water level line of1.35m in the Three Gorges reservoir area have been completed in an all-round way, meeting the requirements of water storage of the Three Gorges Project on schedule. On May 2 1 day, the acceptance team of the the State Council Yangtze Three Gorges Project Acceptance Committee officially announced that the second phase of the Three Gorges Project had reached the water level of 135 meters, which met the requirements of sea trial. It is agreed that the Three Gorges Project will store water on June 1 day, and the trial navigation of the permanent lock can be implemented in June 2003. In June, after the second phase of the project, the water level rose to 1.35 meters, and the Three Gorges scenic spot will be relocated except Zhangfei Temple, while the other scenic spots will be basically preserved.

In 2006, the water level of the Yangtze River rose to 156 meters, and only the gate of Quyuan Temple was flooded and will be rebuilt. In May, the Three Gorges Dam with a total length of about 2,308 meters was completed, and the whole line was poured to the design elevation of 1.85 meters, making it the largest concrete gravity dam in the world.
