On Liling Dialect

Liling, located in the east of Hunan, is now affiliated to Zhuzhou City.

Liling dialect belongs to the Gan language family, because it is said that when Zhu Yuanzhang bloodbath Hunan, Liling was devastated by war and epidemic, and only 18 families (surnames) were left among the indigenous people, that is, the immigration history of "Jiangxi filling the lake". Jiangxi has the largest number of immigrants, earlier and more concentrated. Gan dialect began to dominate and became popular.

Liling discovered porcelain clay, and Guangdong and Fujian coastal areas went to Liling to invest in the ceramic industry. Ceramic culture attracted capital and technical immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong, so it was influenced by immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong. The development of industry has attracted the influx of industrial workers, and immigrants from some counties in the province have also poured in. With the integration of immigrants from many provinces, the dialects of immigrants from all over the country and the original local dialects gradually infiltrated and merged into Liling dialect, mainly in Gan dialect, with traces of dialects such as Cantonese, Minnan dialect and Xiang dialect, and some local dialects and ancient Chinese were retained, forming a unique feature, which is quite different from surrounding cities and counties. It can be said that it is four unlike, but it also combines the wisdom of the people of Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong.

Liling dialect has different pronunciations in Lisan, and each place has different vocabulary. For example, dad, dad, grandpa, and, alas, husband, son, grandpa, Lao Tzu, there are so many names.

But generally speaking, Liling dialect has a relatively flat tone, and the ending is mostly a falling tone, so outsiders' evaluation of Liling people is like chatting even if they quarrel, which is not so rushed!
