Litchi is mainly planted in Guangdong, followed by Fujian and Guangxi, and a few in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Taiwan Province provinces.

Guangdong is the province with the largest distribution of litchi in China, covering more than 80 counties and cities in the province. The key producing areas are Conghua, Zengcheng, Huaxian, Xinhui, Dongguan and Zhongshan in the suburbs of Guangzhou, followed by Xinxing, Huidong, Shenzhen, Huilai, Puning, Gaozhou, Dianbai and Qiongshan.

The varieties are March Red, Jade Bag, Feizixiao, Black Leaf (Black Leaf), Guiwei, Gualv, Glutinous Rice Technology, Huaiji, Shangshuhuai and so on.
