Brief introduction of the first plow in military reclamation

In the leisure square in the center of Shihezi, Xinjiang, there is a sculpture group of "the first plow in military reclamation". In the early 1950s, the first generation of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps members responded to the call of the Party, took root in the north and south of Tianshan Mountain, cast swords as plows, and settled the land and defended the border. At the beginning of their business, army reclamation soldiers wrote an immortal and magnificent chapter of Gobi desert turning into oasis fertile land with the spirit of revolutionary optimism and people plowing the fields. In order to make this history unforgettable for future generations, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps created the sculpture group "The First Plow of Army Reclamation", which was completed in late September of 1985. It was originally named < < predecessors ><, and later became a famous business card for red tourism of Northwest Army Reclamation together with General Wang Zhen and New Frontier Movement.

The group sculpture "The First Plow of Army Reclamation" was made by Zhang Yuli and Yang Meiying, professors of sculpture department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, and forged in copper. It is 7 meters long and 2.7 meters high. The base is gray marble, 9 meters long and 1.4 meters high. Three soldiers struggling to pull the plough with bare arms struggled forward like cows. The bending of the head, chest, hands and knees and the straightness of the back, buttocks and lower limbs, which almost reached the limit, went up and forward from the black granite base in turn, producing a strong impact. Deep feet evoke toes, scrawny ground and a few reeds evoke memories of entrepreneurial years. The work expresses the singer's tenacity and tenacity in fighting against nature with rough and profound exaggeration. The author uses a basically naked human body to highlight human strength, and uses large and violently undulating muscles to show the internal cohesion of people in a specific state.
