1. Summary of application requirements for the eight major universities in Hong Kong

Language-wise, IELTS and TOEFL is a language test recognized by all Hong Kong institutions, but many institutions prefer IELTS scores. Although some colleges and universities can accept CET-6 for some majors, the recognition of CET-6 by Hong Kong colleges and universities has been getting lower and lower in recent years. Therefore, it is recommended that you give priority to preparing for IELTS, obtaining IELTS and TOEFL scores, and applying.

1. University of Hong Kong

IELTS requirements:

All majors require an IELTS total score of 6, with each individual score not less than 5.5.

Economics and Finance majors require an IELTS overall score of 7 and a sub-score of 6.5;

All majors in the School of Liberal Arts (except Buddhism) require an IELTS overall score of 7;

Global China Studies major requires IELTS 7 with a sub-score of 6.5;

Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language major requires IELTS 6.5;

Teaching English as a Foreign Language requires IELTS 7 with a writing score of 7 ;

International Management major requires IELTS 7.

TOEFL requirements: 80 or above

2. Preparations for applying for postgraduate studies in Hong Kong

Preparation of application materials
