The headquarters of Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College is adjacent to the municipal government and is an ordinary university approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government. It belongs to the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, and its predecessor was Shandong Foreign Economic and Trade School founded by 1964 and Shandong Foreign Economic and Trade Staff University founded by 1984. It is one of the earliest schools in Shandong Province to train foreign-related economic and trade talents. In order to better meet the demand of China's opening to the outside world for export-oriented economic talents, in 2002, the two universities merged to form Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College. The college has more than 40 years of school history and experience, and has nearly 400 faculty members, of whom more than 75% are full-time teachers, 9 are professors and 54 are associate professors. At the same time, a large number of experts, professors and "double-qualified" teachers from professional companies and related institutions have been hired to teach in the school. The college has a strong foreign language faculty, and six teachers have received simultaneous interpretation training in the European Union. Among the three senior simultaneous interpreters specially selected by Qingdao Olympic Sailing Committee in 2008, two are from our college.
