Speaking of which, the process of buying a car this time is really easy. NIO has clearly arranged all the steps. Most of the procedures are completed on the mobile phone. There are no complicated document signings or fees. Everything is transparent, there are no additional fees, and someone will contact me in advance whenever I need to do something, and the attitude is consistent and good. I basically don't need to "brain it," I can just follow the instructions with confidence. Compared with going to a traditional 4S store to buy a car, buying a Weilai really saves you a lot of worries about fighting with sales and being afraid of being cheated and losing money.
While waiting for the bus, I mainly did three things:
1. Apply for a loan. After receiving the notice, I took my ID, proof of income and bank statements for the past six months to the Bank of China to sign a few signatures and press a few fingerprints. The whole process only took about half an hour. The bank issued me an electronic credit card for approving the payment and repaying it later. When signing, the parts about the loan amount and interest rate on the document are all blank. The bank will confirm with NIO how much interest I need to bear. The rest of the difference will be subsidized by NIO. How much money can be borrowed depends on the individual's credit report. And qualifications, the minimum down payment is only 15. My Weilai consultant told me that “most people can be approved for loans, as long as you make sure your credit is good and your income is enough to cover the repayments.” In the end, I borrowed 300,000 yuan, and the annual interest rate was 1.99 as promised.
2. Apply for the installation of an electric meter. This process is a little confusing. I originally reported the installation on the WeChat official account of the Power Supply Bureau according to the guidelines. The construction staff gave me a consent form and took it to the property management company to sign. However, I wanted to install a 380V meter to facilitate the installation of NIO in the future. 20kW DC charging pile, so it needs to "wagon" with the property management of the community. At first, the property management company disagreed, saying it was unsafe, saying it couldn't be installed, and then asking an electrician to confirm. Fortunately, there was already a Tesla in the community that had a 380V meter installed, so I kept insisting. Ask them: "Why can others pretend that I can't?", and after a few days they relented and said that as long as the power supply bureau agrees. The process for applying for the installation of 220V electricity meters and 380V electricity meters at the Power Supply Bureau is the same. Both belong to the application for installation of low-voltage residential electricity. As long as the property management company agrees, you can install any type you want. Once the property management is settled, the journey will naturally be smooth. As for the charging piles, I won’t install them for now. We’ll wait until the price of the 20kW DC charging piles is announced. Anyway, there are power swapping stations near home and the company, so you don’t have to spend any money on power swapping.
I would also like to remind everyone here that if you are considering buying an electric car, you must ask clearly about the installation location of the electric meter in the basement when buying a parking space, and try to buy a parking space as close as possible to the electric meter. Don’t be like me, who didn’t know until the meter was installed that the meter for the parking space on the second floor must also be installed on the first floor. After calculation, at least 80 meters will be required to install the charging pile. Weilai provides 30 meters for free, and the additional 1 meter is required. 70 yuan (including construction fee), suddenly it will cost thousands more.
3. Pay the final payment and apply for the temporary license. Due to the impact of the epidemic, I chose to pay the balance directly by transfer. The delivery specialist gave me an account, I transferred the money, and that was it. At the same time, I also bought a worry-free service package. The fee of 13,300 yuan included more than 8,000 yuan in basic insurance fees and more than 5,000 yuan in other service fees, all of which were paid online.
Originally, the delivery specialist asked me to send my ID card to apply for a temporary license, but because the NIO Guangzhou delivery center that handles temporary licenses is relatively close to our company, I decided to go there and do it myself. During the process, there was a car owner in front of me who was selecting the number and registering the car, but it only took me more than 20 minutes to do it.
The process of waiting for the car was very comfortable. Every day when I opened the Weilai APP, I received points and red envelopes. I looked forward to it every day and looked forward to getting my new car as soon as possible. But the day I mentioned the car, I feel a little disappointed.
The day after I applied for the temporary license, I took the temporary license to the delivery center in Foshan to pick up the car. The reason why I needed to go to Foshan was because due to the epidemic, the trucks could not enter Guangzhou. . I don’t know if it was due to the impact of the epidemic, but the delivery process was very simple. The delivery specialist gave me a very delicate key box that looked like a large Xiaomi power bank, asked me to scan the code to activate the car, and then made it for me. A brief explanation of the vehicle and APP functions, and then it’s done. ?There are no flowers, no gifts, no decorations in the car, there is only a set of tufted floor mats in the car, and even the trunk storage board is simply removed (you need to use points to redeem it in the APP), although it lacks a sense of ceremony. , but that's not why I'm disappointed.
The reasons why I feel disappointed are:
1. The chassis comfort of my ES6 equipped with 19-inch wheels is no different from the test car equipped with 21-inch wheels. There are still too many small vibrations transmitted into the car, and I prefer it to be a large car that can isolate the road feeling and is purely comfortable.
2. Whether judging from the perspective of an Audi owner or a car reviewer, the workmanship of this car in many details is still almost unsatisfactory. The leather on the rear seats was wrinkled when I first got the car. When I turned around, I could see obvious seams on the plastic on the steering column. There was also a bit of paint bleeding at the seam between the left rear fender and the rear bumper. Although It doesn't affect the use, but it makes me feel uncomfortable when I look at it.
Coupled with the fact that I was already overly familiar with this car, the day I picked up the car I didn’t feel the excitement or excitement that I had imagined before. After picking up the car, I silently drove the car back. At the company, I finished shooting the video of picking up the car, and then drove home from work to have dinner. Before going to bed, I opened the APP and took a look at the status of the car. I spent my first day as a NIO car owner.
However, happiness often comes so suddenly. After an ordinary day, I saw the news that NIO is about to launch the new NIO OS 2.5.0 system. I can experience the OTA upgrade as soon as I pick up the car. What’s more, what’s being pushed this time is a big version, with major improvements in the car, machine, and autonomous driving system. Instantly, I’m full of expectations for it.
I asked a Weilai consultant and they said that registering information in the APP’s personal exclusive service group will get the push of the new system faster. However, I waited 3 days after registering to receive the push. Just after I finished The first free battery replacement, the first time I picked up wool and gave away my brand new battery. It was Saturday at this time, and because outsiders were not allowed to enter the community recently, just in case, I decided to follow the advice of NIO consultants and endure it for a while, and wait until I get to work on Monday before upgrading, in case the upgrade fails.
