Huai'an City Garden Bureau's standards for the determination of green space rate

The total area occupied by green space in residential areas should be more than 30%, and not less than 25% in central urban areas.

In general garden-style residential areas, the per capita public green space in the residential area should not be less than 1 square meter, and the central urban area should not be less than 50% of the corresponding indicators. The density of trees, shrubs, and bamboos planted in residential areas must be reasonable, leaving appropriate growing distance or space. The green space rate refers to the ratio of the sum of all types of green space within the residential area to the residential area. The green space rate in new areas should not be less than 30%; in the reconstruction of old areas, it should not be less than 25%. Moreover, not all areas where grass is planted are considered green areas and can be included in the green area rate.
