Why didn't Linzhi Railway open?

Linzhi Railway refers to a scheduled railway between Linzhi City in Sichuan Province and Changdu District in Xizang Autonomous Region, also known as "Linzhi-Changdu Section in sichuan-tibet railway". The original intention of this railway construction is to develop local transportation and promote economic development and tourism development. However, due to complex terrain, harsh geological conditions, extremely difficult construction, and various problems such as environmental protection and cultural relics protection, Linzhi Railway was once suspended for many years. As of 202 1, Linzhi Railway has not been fully opened to traffic.

Due to the complicated topography and geology, environmental protection, cost and cultural relics protection, Linzhi Railway is difficult and risky to build, which requires the coordination of the government and all parties, and it is still not open to traffic. However, with the country's "Belt and Road" and the acceleration of economic development in southwest China, the future forest textile railway may be expected to open.
