Is the wheel hub cast by low pressure or gravity?

Gravity casting and low pressure casting have the same effect, but the process is different. Gravity casting is old-fashioned, and low-pressure casting is a new type of rapid casting. Compared with wheel hub factory, low-pressure casting has high output and high yield. And a forged wheel hub. The wheels produced by these three casting processes are reliable, but the appropriate casting method will be selected according to the scale and strength of the hub factory.

Extended data

There are three manufacturing methods of aluminum alloy hub: gravity casting, forging and low pressure precision casting.

1, gravity casting method: pour the aluminum alloy solution into the mold by gravity, and finish the production after being shaped and polished by lathe. The manufacturing process is relatively simple, no precision casting process is needed, the cost is low, and the production efficiency is high, but bubbles (sand holes) are easily generated, the density is uneven, and the surface smoothness is not enough. A considerable number of Geely models are equipped with wheels produced by this method, mainly early models, and most of the new models have been replaced with new wheels.

2. Forging method: the whole aluminum ingot is directly extruded on the die with a thousand-ton press, with uniform density, smooth and meticulous surface, thin hub wall, light weight and the highest material strength, which is more than 30% higher than that of casting method. However, due to the need for sophisticated production equipment, and the yield is only 50% to 60%, the manufacturing cost is high.

3. Low-pressure precision casting method: precision casting at a low pressure of 0. 1Mpa. This casting method has good formability, clear outline, uniform density and smooth surface, which can not only achieve high strength and light weight, but also control the cost, and the yield is over 90%. It is the mainstream manufacturing method of high-quality aluminum alloy wheels.
