Wanzhou District Public Security Bureau was formerly Wanxian District Public Security Bureau and later renamed Wanxian City Public Security Bureau. After Chongqing was directly under the central government, Wanxian Public Security Bureau was abolished, and Wanzhou District Public Security Bureau was established to administer three county-level public security organs: Longbao, Tiancheng and Wuqiao. In 2005, three branches of the Immigration Development Zone were abolished and Wanzhou District Public Security Bureau was established.
