Employment direction of postgraduate entrance examination in film science

Now, according to my own understanding, I will give you a general introduction to the employment situation of film major in Normal University.

Cinematography is a literary subject in terms of discipline division, so the degree we obtained after graduation is also a master of literature. It is precisely because of this that "China Literature" will become a compulsory subject for the postgraduate entrance examination every year. From the perspective of employment, the employment scope of film science and Chinese is not much different. Specifically, there are roughly the following employment directions:

1, university. At present, almost all colleges and universities require at least a doctorate when recruiting teachers. However, because film and television is a new discipline, the threshold of film and television is relatively low in some local universities outside Beijing, and there are still few employment opportunities for master of film studies. In the past two years, brothers and sisters have also been employed in local colleges and universities every year.

2. Press and publication institutions. This includes newspapers, magazines and publishing houses. In the past two years, it seems that the most brothers and sisters in the press and publication industry are Higher Education Press and Xinhua News Agency. Higher Education Society is the largest publishing house in China, with annual sales of 2 billion yuan. Xinhua News Agency need not be introduced. )

3. Relevant state organs and administrative units. This mainly refers to the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, China Film Company, local radio and television groups (bureaus) and literary and art circles. Entering these institutions generally requires taking national or local civil service examinations.

4. Film and television media industry. Mainly refers to CCTV, local TV stations and various film and television media companies. Few people can enter these units by formal establishment. Therefore, there are not many brothers and sisters who directly enter TV stations or film and television companies after graduation. Of course, there are also many people who don't care about hukou and establishment, just to be able to engage in the film and television industry, so they chose this road.

5. Propaganda departments of enterprises and companies. During the three-year postgraduate career, many people will have internship opportunities in TV stations, magazines and newspapers, and they can accumulate some media work experience. Therefore, as soon as they graduated, the propaganda departments of large enterprises and companies (mainly media propaganda posts) became one of our employment directions. It seems that a senior went to Sinopec to do propaganda work two years ago. Sinopec is a large state-owned enterprise that everyone envies.

6. Other employment directions.

From the above analysis (only representing personal views, without authoritative data support), few film graduates can really engage in film production-related careers. If a schoolmate dreams of becoming a director in the future just for his own movie dream, it is definitely disappointing. As far as I know, although the film industry is progressing now, the number of employees is still limited. There are very few people who can learn and make movies. After all, the threshold of this industry is not too low. This year, a district court in Beijing recruited a fresh graduate and made a trial video. As a result, a large number of graduate students from the photography department of the Film Academy applied for the job, and finally one of them was recruited. It can be seen how difficult it is for film majors to find a job. Many film school graduates who don't want to "condescend" either go to work in the film crew or float in Beijing, waiting for an opportunity. Even better, they can shoot TV plays or advertisements. It's so difficult for graduates of film academy to enter the film industry, let alone normal university. Of course, graduate students are academic after all, and practical things are enough for undergraduates. )

Judging from our current job hunting situation, except for a few colleges and universities, almost no employers have indicated in the recruitment announcement that they want film graduates. Therefore, as long as we see someone who wants Chinese, journalism, communication or not, we will rush to seek a glimmer of hope (it sounds a bit tragic, hehe), and some students even change their majors to Chinese or communication in their resumes to meet the requirements of employers. Of course, this is also caused by the tight overall employment situation in recent years, but the limitations of the film major itself and the lack of understanding of this major by outsiders make our employment seem to be much more difficult. On the whole, with the year-on-year enrollment expansion of film majors (the number of students has stabilized at around 30 in the past two years, compared with 10 before), the employment of graduates is becoming less and less optimistic. Most of the graduates before 2003 have a good affiliation, but after 2003, they are not so optimistic. Last year, several brothers and sisters could not find formal jobs, and finally chose to "drift" in TV stations or other places. Of course, it is gratifying that most film graduates can still find jobs, and many even have three or five employers to choose from. If you don't care about your hukou, it's no problem to find a job with a good income.

Having said that, I have a little suggestion: If you like movies very much, yearn for a relaxed graduate life and don't care so much about the job prospects, then you should apply without hesitation. The three-year postgraduate life of film science is very happy (especially the first and second postgraduate studies will be very happy). Although the postgraduate courses of film science (like radio and television art) are not reasonable and the teachers are not so ideal, at least the learning process is like this. If you work hard enough, you can learn a lot. The good learning atmosphere and academic atmosphere of Normal University (unfortunately, the Art College is not very strong) can also bring you a lot of gains. The annual College Student Film Festival hosted by the Art College will also bring many revels and surprises to students who like movies, and rich internship opportunities will also provide you with a good exercise platform ... If you want to realize your movie dream, or just to get a degree certificate, I suggest you think twice. It is difficult for the film major of Normal University to bring you into the field of film production and cultivate you into a movie master (the college class of Art College of Normal University has trained many film directors and actors). The fierce competition in the film entrance examination in the past two years is obvious to all. If you just want to get a diploma, you might as well apply to other schools.

Having said that, I just want to say that you'd better be calm and rational when choosing your own school and major. The film major in normal university is very good, but it is not necessarily the ideal goal. I really hope that every brother and sister who wants to apply for film major can really become my brother and sister, but at the same time, I can't bear to see the embarrassing situation that many blind applicants have repeatedly lost and fought. There are many choices in life, the ideal is not necessarily the best, but the most suitable is the best (the same is true for finding an object). Therefore, students who failed in this year's exam can calm down and think about whether to start over or find a new way out. Teachers and sisters who are preparing for next year's exam should also think about it. As long as they think it over and make a decision, they will calm down and review well, so if they study hard enough, they will definitely get good grades. For the younger brothers and sisters who have entered the second interview, it is not easy to lose heart after reading my introduction. Those who can enter the second interview are all strong, that is, cattle people. What we can do now is to think nothing and review with all our strength. If you pass the exam, don't forget to go back to the forum to introduce your experience and share the joy of success.
