3. Zhu Youyong

Zhu Youyong has been engaged in teaching and scientific research of plant pathology for a long time, and has made systematic research achievements in biological control of plant diseases, molecular biology and potato beetle control. The main scientific research directions in Zhu Youyong are rice genetic transformation and variety improvement, corn and potato diseases and their control.

He creatively established the method of introducing exogenous antibacterial protein gene into rice embryo sac by pollen tube pathway, and controlled rice blast from the source, and successfully introduced disease-resistant genes into nearly 20 main rice varieties in China by using this technology, which opened up a new way for disease-resistant breeding.

4. Li Tianlai
