Hubei Provincial Library is located in Gong Zheng Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan. It is the earliest provincial public library established and opened to the outside world in the modern history of China. It is a national "first-class library" and was selected as the first batch of national key protection units of ancient books in 2008.

Hubei Provincial Library was founded in August 1904 and 1946, and was renamed as Hubei Provincial Library, Central South Library in 195 1, and Hubei Provincial Library in 1954 and 20 12.
