Professor Zhang has been engaged in plastic surgery for nearly 30 years and has been working in the front line of clinic, teaching and scientific research for many years. He is one of the earliest specialists in plastic surgery in China and a veteran of plastic surgery in China. He has done nearly 100 kinds of plastic surgery, and he was the first to apply Medpor to the first-stage reconstruction of the whole ear. Expander placement, forearm island flap, forearm island fasciocutaneous flap, forearm island membrane flap repair and forearm trauma deformity were the earliest. Repair of ankle injury and deformity with posterior leg island flap. It has trained more than graduate students, chief physicians and deputy chief physicians 10, trained more than 60 doctors, written 5 books and published more than 50 articles in domestic authoritative journals.

After decades of research and practice, Professor Zhang further organically combined microsurgery with plastic surgery, broke through the traditional category of plastic surgery, paid more attention to functional recovery and cosmetic recovery, and made great contributions to the development of plastic surgery in China.
