Insights and experiences on the interview process of AB InBev GMT
I received a verbal offer from AB InBev at almost 7 o’clock this evening, and the formal signing will be at the beginning of next month. The author thinks that this trip with Budweiser is quite memorable, it can be said that it was unintentional.
Experience 1: There is no need to prepare for Budweiser, just be yourself.
Budweiser’s interviews are divided into business case analysis, structured interviews, business games and final interviews. Each round examines different dimensions. It is difficult, or impossible, to prepare everything. It is better to be yourself during the interview process, and let the company find the most suitable talents in a relaxed way, and let yourself find a matching destination.
Experience 2: Go have fun and enjoy it
The interview with Budweiser made me very happy. In commercial games, the group rankings are updated every ten minutes, accompanied by sudden changes in roles, which is exciting. During the final interview, the senior executives from abroad were very enthusiastic and enthusiastic. When they came in, they yelled three times collectively and competed with the people in the interview room next door to see who could be loudest. They suddenly became very high. Go enjoy the process and get involved. In fact, HR is also observing whether you are really engaged.
Experience 3: If you get in, it doesn’t mean you are great. If you don’t get in, it doesn’t matter. It's all a matter of fit.
The poster has invested in many companies so far, has been interviewed by some, and has also received the offer that he has been dreaming of for a long time. I don't think whether you have passed the interview or not is a question of whether you are excellent or not. There is no absolute good or bad job. Finding a job is more like a game of matching. Companies want to hire the right people, not the best. Therefore, whether you get the offer from Budweiser or not, you must have a good attitude and always believe in yourself unconditionally. Believe that what should come will eventually come. Those who didn’t come just didn’t have the fate.
Let’s talk about the specifics.
Online application: The poster applied online very early, but I didn’t get news until long after all my friends received invitations to the online test and phone interviews. I guess this is because my major is liberal arts, and Budweiser still prefers students majoring in science and engineering. But in the final analysis, gold will always shine, and children in liberal arts must give themselves confidence.
Electronic Interview: Fluent in English, confident, don’t get stuck, no high requirements. Most of my friends around me have passed.
Business case analysis: Very fun. First, you will watch English cases for 45 minutes by yourself in the conference room, and then you will be taken to a room to do pre, and the interviewer will ask questions. In the case, you need to use a calculator to do calculations, and you also need to brainstorm some ideas. Maybe the calculation part is more critical and requires more effort to calculate the results. As for the brainstorming ideas, I only came up with them on the way to the interviewer’s room.
Structured interview: An HR from Budweiser and a representative from SHL meet together. The representative of SHL asked, both people can take notes. To be honest, it feels quite cool to see them talking endlessly while they keep taking notes like students. But in fact, this interview process is a bit painful. He will keep asking you about your past experience and your details. There are a lot of memories to be made in my mind and a lot of hard thinking to be done. After the interview, I felt as if my whole identity was known.
Business game: First, strive to win. Ranking still has some impact on whether you advance to the next round. Secondly, not only your ranking, HR is observing your performance in all aspects. For example, how do you evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your captain? Do you pay enough attention to him, summarize carefully, and make candid evaluations? Moreover, it reflects your support and friendliness. For example, in group discussions, do you actively participate and give feedback to others? Or are you just expressing your own opinions without integrating them? But my biggest advice is really to be yourself. Dressing up for three hours is very tiring. Because the poster had a playful mentality, he did not take part in the discussion at first, and was still muttering to our captain.
Later, when our ranking became number one, the host asked me what I thought of the captain, and I still expressed my support for him. After that, I slowly entered the state... This is a story for later.
Final interview: The final interview depends on your eyesight and aura, to see if you are really passionate. There were two rooms at the end. The interviewers in the room I was in were relatively gentle, not very strong. Although the final interview lasted more than an hour, the time allocated to each interviewee was less than 15 minutes. So, be short and get to the point. I feel that because of the fast-moving consumer goods business, senior executives don't have the patience to listen to answers for a long time. They want to be simple and clear.
To be honest, the poster has many disadvantages. For example, the poster is not a science and engineering student like Budweiser, but a pure management student. The poster's English speaking skills are not good. He can express his views fluently, but his accent sounds really bad. The original poster has never really gotten to know Budweiser, but has only participated in some of their campus activities.
But as mentioned at the beginning, finding a job is a matter of matching. You may not be the best, but you will be the most suitable, and that is enough.
The interview experience at Budweiser was the best I have ever had. From the high-end interview venue to the friendly HR staff, to the professional and fun interview process, I give you countless thumbs up.
Although I may not be able to join Budweiser due to objective factors in the end, this interview experience made me like and cherish it so much. Bless Budweiser and all the people who are going in and looking forward to it.
