According to the provisions of the Ministry of Public Security's Gongtongzi [1995] No. 91 document, a citizen's place of origin should be the place of residence of his grandfather (the place of household registration) when he was born; if his grandfather died, fill in the place of household registration at the time of his death; If the grandfather does not have a permanent residence, fill in the place where the grandfather should have a permanent residence. After the citizen registers his place of residence, if the grandfather moves his place of residence, the citizen's place of residence will not be changed accordingly.
