Yingjiang District is located in the east of Anqing City, Anhui Province. It is the central city of Anqing, bordering the Yangtze River in the southeast, Pogang Lake in the north and Longshan Road in the west, with a total area of 207 square kilometers. In 2005, the total population was 244,000, including non-agricultural population 1.58 million. It is located at 1 17.02 degrees east longitude and 30.30 degrees north latitude. It belongs to hilly terrain with low southeast and high northwest, and belongs to the north subtropical monsoon climate.

Management history

Yingjiang District was established in April of 1949, then it was called Zongyang District of Anqing City, 1952 was renamed Chengdong District, 1955 was renamed Dongshi District, 1960 was renamed Yingjiang District, and 1968 was renamed Dongshi District, and Dongshi District was established.

Yingjiang District Organ Courtyard is located at No.515 Renmin Road. At present, about 40 units, such as the District Committee, the District People's Congress, the District Government, the District Political Consultative Conference and the District Discipline Inspection Commission, are concentrated in the compound, and only a few government departments, such as the District Economic and Trade Commission, the District Civil Affairs Bureau, the District Labor Bureau and the District Education Commission, have moved out of the compound.

After adjustment, Yingjiang District has jurisdiction over six sub-district offices including Xinhe Road, Huazhong Road, Renmin Road, Yicheng Road, Xiao Su Road and Jianshe Road, and four townships including Longshiqiao Township, Changfeng Township, Xinzhou Township and Laofeng Town. It has a total area of 207 square kilometers and a population of 244,000, of which the non-agricultural population is 6,543,800+0,580.

In April 2020, Yingjiang District was included in the list of the third batch of civilized cities in Anhui Province.
