The Engineering Training Center of Technical and Engineering College of Lanzhou University of Technology is located in Duxing Building in the north of the college, with a construction area of 6,500 square meters. It has machining centers, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, CNC wire cutting machines, hobbing machines, universal cylindrical grinders, surface grinders, radial drilling machines, coordinate measuring machines, three-dimensional laser scanners, rapid prototyping machines, complete sets of industrial automation experiments, hydraulic transmission control test beds, microcomputer-controlled electronic universal testing machines and other large-scale equipment, experimental instruments and related engineering application software. Engineering training center is a practical teaching base to cultivate students' practical ability and innovative consciousness. There are engineering basic training department, digital manufacturing training department, electrical automation training department, reverse engineering and scientific and technological innovation training department, with more than 50 full-time and part-time teachers, and nearly 120 training experiments to provide engineering practice teaching and training services for students in the whole hospital. Every year, nearly 4,000 students from 26 undergraduate majors, including machinery, materials, electricity, chemical engineering, thermal engineering and civil engineering, complete engineering training tasks such as engineering foundation, digital design and manufacturing, PLC application and automation engineering, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping technology. The Engineering Foundation Training Department mainly conducts skills training such as turning, fitter, caster and welder, and is equipped with various machining such as turning, milling, planing, grinding and drilling. Digital design and manufacturing training department is equipped with 14 sets of machining center, CNC milling machine, CNC lathe, CNC wire cutting machine and other equipment, and equipped with digital design and manufacturing room. It has more than 50 high-profile computers, and installed CAXA entity design, CAXA manufacturing engineer, CAXA process drawing, CAXA collaborative management, CAXA network DNC communication, CAXA network DNC data acquisition and other software. The electrical automation training room adopts a complete set of Siemens products, and has more than 40 sets of equipment such as S7-200 control system, S7-300 control system (including servo system and stepping system), DCS system, liquid level control system, intelligent manipulator control system, transparent simulation teaching elevator control system and traffic light control system, which can be used for electrical engineering and automation, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, process control and equipment. The reverse engineering and innovation training department is an open extracurricular activity area for students of all majors in the hospital, focusing on mechanical manufacturing, reverse engineering technology, rapid prototyping technology and electronic technology, providing students with a good platform for independent learning and innovation. The training department has CMM, 3D laser scanner, rapid prototyping machine, digital image processing and other equipment. The engineering training center pays attention to the practical teaching characteristics of "paying equal attention to theory and practice, integrating quality and technology", and trains students' professional and technical application ability through various practical training, so that students can master the operational skills and professional and technical application ability in practical work in professional fields, especially comprehensive practical training. Through scenario simulation, project simulation and information virtualization, with training reality as the basic mode, students can obtain real comprehensive ability training to solve practical problems. The Engineering Training Center gives full play to its resource advantages, opens to the society, serves the local economic construction, takes improving students' comprehensive quality, cultivating practical ability and innovative consciousness as the main purpose of practical teaching, adheres to the practical teaching concept of cultivating students' engineering practical ability, scientific and technological innovation ability and teamwork ability, and establishes a practical teaching system that meets the needs of regional economic and social development and the training objectives of the college. The Engineering Training Center of College of Technology and Engineering of Lanzhou University of Technology is now the National Machinery Industry Examination and Certification Center, the National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute, the CAXA Examination Center of the Ministry of Education, and the Engineering Training Demonstration Center of Gansu Province. It is one of the most advanced engineering training centers in northwest universities, and the future automation factory experimental projects such as mechanical reverse engineering and industrial manipulator are unique to universities in Gansu Province.
