The greatest adventure in life is not daring to take risks.

Bronnie Ware is a nurse in Australia who specializes in psychological counseling for dying patients. She recorded the biggest regret of the patient's life and sorted out several biggest regrets. We will see that as an ordinary life, how similar we are in the pursuit of human nature and the feeling of life:

1.? I hope I have the courage to face myself and pursue my life, instead of living for the expectations of others.

This is a pity for many people, because our whole life, especially in the Asian culture dominated by forbearance and conformity, seems to live for the expectations of others. When you are young, you should be a good boy. When we grow up, we need to have a stable job, get married and have children at the "right" age, and then get old ... We have fulfilled other people's expectations, but regret not choosing to fulfill our dreams.

Do you still remember your dreams when you were young? Do you remember how much you loved writing, singing, dancing and painting, and then gave up because of life?

I wish I didn't take up so much time at work.

This is the regret of many family members and parents. We miss the growth of our children and getting along with our partners for work. We keep sprinting on the road of "success" in the eyes of money, fame and fortune, but we are gradually drifting away from the people we care about most.

How long has it been since you traveled with your parents and family? Do you want to go to a place for a long time, but you never have time? Or, you love someone very much, but you never have time to spend warm time with him?

I hope I can make myself happier through this life.

We all hope that we can live a happy life, or a happier life than now. But we dare not change and are unwilling to take risks, so we pretend to be satisfied with our present situation. In fact, deep down, we are so eager to have more stories in life, even if it is some stupid things. Remember to laugh when we are old?

What is adventure? Does the adventure have to be earth-shattering?

In my understanding, "adventure" means to dare to make choices, dare to meet changes, and dare to bear the consequences, so as to achieve your goals or achieve things that have not been done before. "Adventure" does not mean "blindness" and "recklessness". If you go to the battlefield with your bare hands, or climb Mount Everest unprepared, it's not an adventure. You won't die if you don't die.

Every choice is uncertain and every change is risky. In this world, besides "life and death" is doomed, what else is completely risk-free?

When we choose to love someone, we may face the result that the other person doesn't love me, even cheating, lying and betraying. So we choose not to love?

When we embrace friendship with an open mind, we may face disputes, differences, misunderstandings and even the result of parting ways. So we just lock our hearts?

When we pack our bags and go to places we have long wanted to explore, we may face sudden weather, bad food and unexpected situations, so we will never set off?

When we enter a new working environment or post, we may face unfamiliar colleagues and teams, incomprehensible terms and communication methods, and constant friction and running-in. So our jobs will never change?

When we try to learn a new skill and tool, we may face initial setbacks, incomprehension of others, and countless entanglements that we want to give up. So we'll never start?

A friend read my other articles and asked: As a graduate of Chinese Department, why can I work in a large foreign company?

Because I chose to take risks and seize opportunities.

My resume was unremarkable at that crowded job fair. But in order to win this precious opportunity, I told the HR present that I don't care about the salary and gave me two months to prove my efforts. This sentence also means that I may face the dilemma that I can't even pay the rent. However, my desire to join a large foreign company overcame my fear of all other risks. Yes, I realized this wish.

How can I get the first chance to go abroad in a talented team?

This is an extremely sudden and urgent trip. Several large customers in Europe temporarily joined forces to inform global suppliers to concentrate on bargaining. That means going to one or two countries every day (yes, you are right, the countries in Europe are very small, and many of them are similar to a big province in China). No leisurely sightseeing, no comfort in a suit and tie. In many cases, in order to save time, you have to stay on the local train for one night. Many partners will hesitate, so I chose to start.

In a small town in Germany, I got lost. It was getting late and I was trapped in a cemetery for one night.

In Sweden, because I was in a hurry, I met unscrupulous drivers (Sweden is a beautiful place, but some unscrupulous drivers don't care about national borders) and kept detouring until the cost reached 3000 yuan. My tears are almost falling, 3000 yuan, I have to take it out of my meager salary at that time. And I don't even have time to report and complain to the local management, because I have to move on.

In France, it rains heavily. There is an emergency meeting at the top of the other party. I need to cancel this small interview. I stood in the rain and waited until he gave me ten minutes.

I survived all this. On the day I returned home, I collapsed and fell asleep at the international airport until the kind service staff woke me up. After that, the flag of the international business department was carried on my shoulder.

I have had many fears and hesitations. I found that changing the mode of giving up in the face of challenges did not make life easier. In fact, every time I give up, it means that I surrender before I resist.

There is a favorite little story to share with you:

A man in his early forties was told by a doctor that he had cancer and could live for three years at most. In order not to waste his last time, he gave up the plan of slow treatment in the hospital and made a plan of "ten things to do in three years" He wants to accomplish what he didn't dare to challenge in his previous life. These include writing a book, learning a foreign language, starting a career, visiting 30 places of interest and seeing 50 cities with my family. You see, facing the end of life, our wishes are so similar.

By the end of three years, all his wishes had come true. So he took his family to the hospital to see the last moment. But the doctor told him with joy that the cancer cells had not deteriorated and he could continue to live!

Does he "continue" to live? No. He lived a different life, a life he had thought about countless times before, but he didn't have the courage to try.

Why can only death give us courage?

Don't be afraid of change. The only constant in this world is change. Let's take every step bravely and let the future come now.
