Gas turbine is a turbine product developed for burning clean fuels such as natural gas, liquefied natural gas and light oil. Due to the lack of energy in Japan, which is heavily dependent on imports, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Nippon Steel Corporation began to develop blast furnace gas turbine and its combined cycle power plant in the late 1970s to meet the demand of Japanese steel enterprises for effective energy utilization.

At the beginning of 2004, Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co., Ltd. (HTC) focused on the company's long-term development plan. After careful investigation and analysis, it decided to cooperate with Mitsubishi Corporation (MHI) in the field of gas turbines. Through the joint efforts of both parties, HTC and MHI jointly obtained the first gas turbine project in February 2005-two 50MW M25 1S blast furnace gas combined cycle units in Hebei Hangang.

M25 1S blast furnace gas combined cycle power generation unit (CCPP) can fully reflect the efficient use of resources, clean and environmental protection, provide users with convenient thermoelectric demand, and provide a solid foundation for the sustainable development of steel plants. Especially in solving the pollution problem caused by a large number of blast furnace gas emissions, the most ideal solution has been played, and the gas emissions are zero, which makes the utilization of by-product gas in iron and steel plants more reasonable and efficient, and also provides a lot of electric energy and heat energy for iron and steel plants.

The combined cycle efficiency of M25 1S blast furnace gas is more than 38%, which is 1.5-2 times that of conventional boilers. For iron and steel enterprises, CCPP makes efficient use of blast furnace gas, hardly needs other fuels for combustion, fully meets the national environmental protection requirements, conforms to the energy policy, and is conducive to energy conservation and emission reduction.

At the same time, the investment payback period of combined cycle units is fast (3~5 years). The CCPP power of M25 1S gas turbine is 50MW, the annual power generation can reach 400 million kWh, and the total revenue can reach nearly 200 million RMB, which brings considerable economic benefits to enterprises.

M25 1S combined cycle thermal power plant of blast furnace gas is an energy-saving and environmental protection project strongly advocated by the state, and it is also the main development direction of waste heat utilization in iron and steel enterprises in the future. The condensing steam turbine designed by our company is a single cylinder and single shaft impact turbine. Steam turbines below 3000KW are equipped with gear reducers, and steam turbines above 6000KW are directly connected to the engine.

In order to meet the needs of winter heating in northern cold areas, our company can provide users with low vacuum circulating water heating dual-purpose steam turbines (pure power generation in summer), thus improving the economic benefits of small and medium-sized power stations.
