4. Can you show me the workflow that shows meticulous problem-solving ability, including model, wireframe and key interface?

2. Plan your portfolio carefully.

Should the portfolio be focused or presented in a balanced way? This is a difficult problem. Some tutors suggest that the portfolio should be as diverse as possible, showing various works, such as packaging, printing, advertising and web pages. Some people also encourage choosing to focus on special projects. If you like applications, if you want to create applications in the future, let the application works fill the portfolio.

3. Even if it is not perfect, it needs to be true.

It is embarrassing to talk about such a failed project in the interview. But being able to face failure honestly is actually a good thing. When a designer interviews you, they can't understand the real feelings related to you. So the next best thing is to show your past cooperation with others. This real workplace experience can reflect your sense of cooperation and your ability to cope with time constraints and various constraints. Even if the project results are not good, it is a breakthrough to speak out. There is no need to be ashamed of your imperfect work. It is wise to face up to your shortcomings.

4. Less design exercises and more in-depth cases.

Recruiters have browsed thousands of such works, and your school work will be easily recognized. The font poster homework of freshmen may look great, but it can prove that you can answer at most one proposition, but it can't prove that you have the ability to work independently, let alone that you can solve problems. If you decide to put the design exercise in your folder, make sure it has a careful problem-solving process. And you have to analyze it as a case.

5. Let the results speak for themselves

If your design doesn't improve the user experience, solve business problems and achieve other goals set by yourself, then it is at best a decoration.

When it comes to results, please try to speak with real data. If it is difficult to get data feedback as a student project, then interview users and other stakeholders to judge whether the design results have achieved their goals to the greatest extent. Set a good goal and work hard to accomplish it, so as to be a complete project.

6. Make the portfolio clear.

Make sure others can browse your portfolio easily. Compatibility of mobile devices is equally important! Even if your website design user experience is excellent, but your portfolio experience is poor, then your talent can't be reflected. By the way, make sure your UI portfolio is online!

7. Do background research, and then communicate sincerely.

Forget the same cover letter. Using this first email to tell the other person that you are a passionate and excellent designer is much more useful than copying the template. Tell me about the challenges you have accepted in the employer's field. Let the other person feel that you know the company completely. And show that you really care about what you say. Be concise, but be sincere, which will make your cover letter different.

8. Show your passion
