What is a Roots blower?

Roots blower is a rotary compressor which uses the relative motion of two lobed rotors in the cylinder to compress and transport gas, and belongs to positive displacement blower.

Roots blower is a kind of blower with simple structure and convenient manufacture. Widely used in aquaculture aeration, sewage treatment aeration and cement transportation. It is more suitable for gas transportation and pressurization system in low pressure occasions, and can also be used as a vacuum pump.

Working principle of Roots blower: When the motor drives the driving shaft to rotate through the coupling or belt pulley, the gear installed on the driving wheel drives the gear on the driven wheel to rotate synchronously in the opposite direction, so that the engaged rotor rotates with it, thus forming a space between the casing and the rotor, and gas enters the space from the air inlet. At this time, the gas will be compressed by the rotor and squeezed out of the gas outlet, while the other rotor will turn to the position opposite to the first rotor at the beginning of compression, forming a new space with the other side of the shell, and new gas will enter this space and be squeezed out, so as to keep moving and achieve the purpose of blowing.
