Where is Banqiaohe Reservoir?

Banqiaohe Reservoir is a famous cultural landscape scenic spot in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture.

Known as Lake Ala, it is located in the northwest of luxi county, 26 kilometers away from the county seat. Built in 1958, it was expanded from 1978 to a medium-sized reservoir with a storage capacity of 72.4 million cubic meters. It is the backbone water storage project of luxi county West-East Gas Pipeline Project, with a dam height of 37 meters. The virgin forest area in the reservoir area is 1 1 ,000 mu, which is composed of two mountain canyons and two forks with different lengths connected in series. Seen from the plan, it looks like a dragon with two horns, inviting it to roam in the mountains in the northwest corner of luxi county. Pinghu, located halfway up the mountain, is full of water and sky, rippling blue waves, blue sky and white clouds, and green mountains and trees, which has the charm of Liangshan Mountain in Shui Bo. Ten thousand mu of ecological virgin forest around Ala Lake can be experienced everywhere. In spring, azaleas reflect the mountain red, and in summer, after the rain, fungus is picked under the pine trees. Qiu Lai Li Tang is covered with branches, and camellia is planted at home, welcoming guests from afar.
