Funding sources: Most of our country’s research institutions are established within party and government agencies or funded by the state finance, while abroad they are sponsored by private funds. The operating experience of similar foreign institutions is worth learning from. In the United States, the Rockefeller family alone supports the famous think tank Brookings Institution with more than 70 million U.S. dollars every year. When the Center for International Economic Affairs was founded, the finance department allocated 5 million yuan for its start-up expenses, but it was ignored in the future. Therefore, we have established a fund board of directors to be responsible for raising funds and have attracted more than 20 central enterprises. Domestic enterprises now have the enthusiasm and ability to support private think tanks. In the future, we will also recruit private enterprises and multinational companies to join us to ensure that the sources of funds are diversified so that the research results will not be affected by any sponsor or speak for any company, and our members will cross departments and regions. The overall goal is to raise a fund-raising scale of 500 million yuan and operate it entirely in a market-oriented manner without using a penny from the state. This will help maintain the independence of the center's research.

Research and exchange mechanism: In the past three months, the Center for International Economics has made a good start in economic research, consulting and exchanges, international cooperation, and information services. It is running smoothly and there is no "looseness" in it. Everyone is very motivated. An academic seminar is held every week on a current economic hot topic. In addition to the "Key Situations" that are sent directly to the central government, we also compile and print special issues such as "Research Reports", "Information Reflections", and "Think Tank Opinions". More than a dozen research reports have been submitted, and the results on topics such as green recovery and expanding export channels have attracted the attention of the central government.

The Global Think Tank Summit is the first large-scale external event since the establishment of the Center for International Economics, and the issues are unanimously discussed and decided by the Board of Directors. The purpose is to bring together world-renowned think tanks to pool their wisdom and efforts to deeply explore the development trends of the financial crisis and ways to restore world growth.
