Self-made automatic flower watering device

There are many ways to make an automatic flower watering device, but most of them are to let water drip into the flowerpot slowly to keep the soil moist all the time, so it is not appropriate to control the water quantity. Plants with succulent roots, such watering devices for succulent plants will cause overgrowth and even root rot, so they have certain limitations. According to the siphon principle, we can use infusion bottles and infusion sets to make a timed automatic flower watering device.

Schematic diagram of automatic flower watering device:

I. Materials

Clean oil drum, large infusion bottle, two sets of infusion sets, awl or scissors, iron wire and transparent tape.

Second, production.

1. Tighten the lid of the oil drum, drill a hole with an awl or scissors and insert the infusion set, and make a small hole at the bottom of the oil drum for water supply and ventilation. The oil drum is fixed above the flowerpot with iron wire, in a position where it does not meet or block the sun.

2. The needle at the lower end of the infusion set is inserted into the bottom of the infusion bottle, and the infusion bottle is hung on the lower part of the oil drum and above the flowerpot.

3.? Insert the upper end of the second infusion set into the bottle cap of the infusion set, fold back the infusion set tube upwards, fix it on the infusion bottle in an N shape with adhesive tape, and put the lower end into the flowerpot.

Third, adjustment.

This automatic flower watering device is made according to the siphon principle of ancient fair cups. When the height of the water in the infusion bottle exceeds the highest point of the N-shaped infusion tube, all the water in the infusion bottle flows into the flowerpot. You can first measure the amount of water needed for a pot of flowers to be watered thoroughly, add it to an oil drum, control the flow with a flow regulator, calculate the dripping amount of 1~2 hours according to the speed of one drop per minute, and then adjust the dripping speed according to the days between watering the flowers. When water flows into the infusion bottle, adjust the height of the top end of the N-shaped tube. In this way, when you are on a business trip, you can really water the flowers "automatically" by filling the oil drum with water.

Note: The same infusion bottle can water different flowerpots by adjusting the highest point of the N-shaped tube. If the oil drum above is replaced with a water tank large enough, more infusion bottles can be connected below, and several flowerpots can be watered at the same time.
