Conditions for applying for Chinese opera

The requirements of the performance department of the Chinese Opera Art Examination are as follows:

Abide by the Constitution and laws of People's Republic of China (PRC) and be healthy. Ordinary high school graduates; Graduates from secondary specialized schools (junior high school or above). Students who have graduated from institutions of higher learning with nationally recognized academic qualifications for more than one year. Social workers with high school equivalent (graduated from junior high school for more than two years).

Those who meet the above conditions can apply for the exam with the consent of the unit where the file is located; Servicemen and civilian cadres in military areas may apply for the exam with the approval of the Political Department at the corps level; Overseas Chinese and young people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who meet the above conditions can apply.

Expanding knowledge: what does the Chinese opera performance department test?

In the performance department of the Central Academy of Drama, the subjects of the initial art test are generally: self-introduction, lines (self-provided), vocal music (self-provided), body shape, group sketches and so on. The subjects of the second test are generally: self-introduction, lines (self-provided), vocal music, figures, artistic expertise display, sketches and so on. The subjects of the three tests are generally: lines (proposition), body (comprehensive test), proposition improvisation and so on.

The content of the annual exam is slightly different. Please refer to the enrollment brochure of the school you are applying for.

(1) Self-introduction: The exam requires simple self-introduction, such as registration number, height, where you come from, etc. In this process, the voice should be loud and clear.

(2) Lines: Candidates recite novels, essays or fables, the genre is not limited, the content should be healthy, and the length of the article should be controlled at about three minutes.

(3) Vocal music: Through the understanding of candidates' timbre and intonation, we can examine whether candidates have the voice conditions to be actors.

(4) Body: The examinee dances a dance, which mainly examines the expressive force, flexibility and coordination of the examinee's body.

(5) Performance: It may be a proposition or a prescribed situation. Candidates should listen carefully to the examiner's requirements, strive to be true, honest and natural when performing, and avoid affectation or deliberate show-off. In the third exam, there may be more assessment contents, such as proposition essays, prescribed situations and impromptu essays.
