What does a rare earth smelter do?

The work mainly includes: (1) operating rotary kiln or reaction kettle and auxiliary equipment to convert rare earth into compounds easily soluble in water or inorganic acids; (2) operating a reaction kettle, an extraction device, an ion exchange device and a calciner, and realizing component separation between rare earth elements and separation and purification of rare earth and non-rare earth impurities by chemical method, extraction method, ion exchange method, chromatography method and liquid membrane extraction method, so as to prepare rare earth concentrate and single rare earth oxide or salt; (3) operating a reaction kettle, a pump, a filter, a classifier, a mixer, a drying furnace and a calcining furnace to synthesize and prepare rare earth polishing powder, rare earth luminescent materials and rare earth compounds; (4) operating molten salt electrolyzer, vacuum induction furnace or carbon tube furnace, tantalum sheet furnace, vacuum electric arc furnace, extruder and auxiliary equipment to prepare mixed and single rare earth metals, rare earth alloys, rare earth metal materials, flint, etc. Electrolytic method and thermal reduction method; (5) Operate special and auxiliary equipment such as crusher, pulverizer, mixer, extruder, vacuum induction furnace, sintering machine, heat treatment machine, slicer, polisher, electroplating device, magneto-optical machine, etc. Preparing rare earth permanent magnet materials and rare earth hydrogen storage materials; (6) Maintain equipment, deal with equipment failures and fill in production records.
