Yantan New City is located in Weiping Town, Yantan District, adjacent to the High-tech Zone, with Nanhu Eco-city in the west and Bancang Industrial Park in the north. In the initial planning, Yantan New Town was divided into Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. S305 (known as Yantan New Town in ancient times) is the first and second phases, with a planned area of 5 square kilometers (3 square kilometers for the first phase and 2 square kilometers for the second phase, with the boundary as shown below); The planning area of Yantan New Town Phase III is 14 square kilometers, which is the east area of Wolong Lake. However, in the newly revised urban master plan of Zigong, this area is all ecological green space, and the urban architectural planning of this area may have been cancelled. Therefore, the coastal new city mentioned below only refers to the first and second phases, that is, the area of 5 square kilometers east of Neiyi Expressway, south of S206 and north of S305. The overall planning of other cities shall be submitted by the people's government of the city to the people's government of the province or autonomous region for examination and approval.

The overall planning of other towns shall be organized by the town people's government and submitted to the people's government at the next higher level for examination and approval.
