Facing a pile of loess on the vast land, thinking about the spirit of his mother under the nine springs, recalling his mother's kind appearance and nurturing kindness, Lao Dan was so sad that he did not eat or sleep, so he sat on the ground, meditating, and suddenly he had a seizure. I am dull; I pursue it logically, I suddenly realize it, I feel relieved, my sorrow disappears, and I suddenly feel hungry and tired. So he had a hearty meal and fell asleep.

The generals and maids were all surprised. When he woke up, they asked him why. Lao Dan replied: "When people are born in the world, they have feelings and wisdom. With feelings, human relations are harmonious and warm to each other; with wisdom, people understand the truth and manage affairs without chaos. Emotion is the attachment of wisdom; wisdom is the master of emotion. . If you use your emotions to guide your wisdom, you will be dull and your affairs will be messed up. If you use your emotions to control your emotions, you will be smart and your affairs will be harmonious. My mother gave birth to Dan, and her kindness was as great as a mountain.

My mother left me with love. It's hard to break up. It's human nature. If it's hard to break up and not unified by wisdom, it will be chaotic. So I feel sad and don't want to live. Now I suddenly have wisdom, and I can control my feelings with wisdom. When emotions are controlled, things can be regulated, so the belly is hungry and desires food, and the body is tired and sleepy."

How can wisdom control emotions?" "Human life comes from nothing to something; from nothing to something, it must come from something and back to nothing. When there is no mother and mother, there is no love between mother and child; when there is mother and mother, there is mother and child. When the mother and the mother are gone, the mother is no longer merciless, but the son only has love. When the mother and the mother are gone, there is no love at all. Isn’t it the same as when there is no human love anymore?

Isn’t it foolish to indulge in love without any distinction, and be so sad that you don’t want to live? Therefore, the love between flesh and blood is difficult to break, everyone is like this, and it is consistent with love. If it is difficult to break without restraint, it goes against the principles of nature. Yes. It is foolish to follow the laws of nature! One day in 538 BC, Confucius said to his disciple Nangong Jingshu: "Lao Dan, the keeper of the Tibetan Chamber in Zhou Dynasty, is knowledgeable about the past and the present, knows the origin of rituals and music, and understands the essentials of morality. Confucius said: "I study the Book of Songs, the Book of Books, the Rites of Zhou, the Music of Zhou, and the Book of Changes. , "Spring and Autumn", which talked about the ways of governing the country in the first three years and understood the success of Duke Zhou and Duke Zhao. I used this to pay homage to more than 70 kings of the Jin Dynasty, but none of them adopted my ideas. It seemed that it was too difficult to convince people. "

Laozi said: "Your 'six arts' are all ancient history from the time of the previous kings. What's the use of them? "Traces" are the marks left by people's shoes. Is there any difference between footprints and footprints?

After the first conversation, I introduced Confucius to the doctor Chang Hong. He was good at music theory and taught Confucius music rhythm and music theory; he also led Confucius to observe the ceremonies of worshiping gods, inspecting places where missions were preached, and observing the etiquette of temple fairs, which made Confucius sigh and benefited a lot.

Lao Dan sent him outside the residence and said, "I heard that the rich and noble give money to others, and the righteous people give words to others. In today's world, those who are smart and insightful are often in trouble and almost die because they like to ridicule other people's wrongdoings; those who are good at eloquence and understanding are the reason why they often bring trouble to themselves because they like to promote others' evildoings.

As a son of others, do not put yourself above others; as a minister of others, do not consider yourself as supreme. I hope you will remember this. "The general idea is that I have nothing to give you, so I will give you a few words. Don't slander others, don't praise others too much, and don't be proud.

Confucius said: "Disciples must keep this in mind. . "

When Confucius walked to the Yellow River, he saw the surging water, the rolling turbid waves, the momentum like ten thousand horses galloping, and the sound like tigers roaring and thundering. Confucius stood on the bank for a long time and sighed unconsciously: "The deceased is like a man who never gives up day and night! The water of the Yellow River continues to surge, and people's years continue to pass by. I don't know where the river is going, and I don't know where to return in life? "

The river flows day and night, and so does human life. I don't know where life will go. After hearing Confucius say these words, Laozi said: "Life is between heaven and earth. Heaven and earth are one. Heaven and earth are natural things; human life is also natural; people have the changes of youth, youth, strength, and oldness, just like the heaven and earth have the alternation of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. How can it be sad?

Be born in nature and die in nature. If you let nature take its course, your nature will not be chaotic; if you don’t let nature take its course and rush between benevolence and righteousness, your nature will be fettered. If fame and fame are kept in the heart, anxiety will arise; if the desire for gain is kept in the heart, worries will increase. Confucius explained: "I am worried that the great road will not work, the benevolence and righteousness will not be implemented, the war will continue, and the country will not be governed. Therefore, some people lament that life is short and they cannot make any contribution to the world or do anything to the people." "

After a while, Laozi pointed to the mighty Yellow River and said to Confucius: "Why don't you learn the virtues of water? Confucius said: "What virtues does water have?" Laozi said: "The best thing is like water: water is good for all things and does not fight for it. It is what everyone hates. This is the virtue of humility. Therefore, the river and the sea can be the king of a hundred grains. If they are good, they can be the king of a hundred grains."

No one in the world is soft and weak compared to water, and no one can defeat the strong. This is the virtue of softness; therefore, the soft can defeat the strong, and the weak can defeat the strong.

Because it has no existence, it can enter the non-existence. From this, we can see the benefits of teaching without saying anything and doing nothing.

After hearing this, Confucius suddenly understood and said: "Sir's words made me suddenly understand: when everyone is above, the water is alone at the bottom; when there are many people, it is easy, but when the water is alone, it is dangerous; when there are many people, the water is clean. Being alone is filthy. Who can argue with me?"

I nodded and said, "You must remember: Don't fight with the world. , then no one in the world can compete with it. This is to imitate the virtue of water. Unpredictable, goodness is abyss; damage is not exhausted, giving without expecting repayment, goodness is benevolence; circles must turn, squares must break, obstructions must stop, determination must flow, good and trustworthy.

Washing. The masses are equal, and they are good at managing things; by carrying them, they are floating, by observing them, they are clear, and by attacking, they are strong and invincible, and they make good use of their abilities; they do not give up day and night, and they are late in advancing, so the saints are good at all times. As for the wise, they change according to the situation; the wise manage by doing nothing, and the wise live according to nature.

After you leave, you should get rid of your arrogance in your appearance and your appearance. The sound has been heard before you arrive, the wind has moved before your body arrives, you are flamboyant like a tiger walking on the street, who dares to use you?"

Confucius said: "The words of the teacher come from the heart and enter the disciples. My disciple has benefited a lot from me and will never forget it. I will continue to obey you and thank you for your kindness." After saying this, he said goodbye to me, got into the car with Uncle Nangong, and reluctantly drove to the state of Lu.

When Confucius came back from Laozi, he didn't speak for three days. Zigong asked strangely what was going on. Confucius said: "If I meet someone whose thoughts are as wild as a bird, I can shoot him with my arguments as accurate and sharp as a bow and arrow to subdue him. If the other person's thoughts are like an elk's As uninhibited as it is, I can use a hound to chase it, and I will definitely make him subdued by my arguments.

If the other person's thoughts are swimming in the abyss of theory like a fish, I can use a fishing hook to catch him. Capture him. However, if the other person's thoughts are like a dragon, riding on the clouds and mists, traveling in the illusory realm, invisible and unpredictable, I will not be able to chase and capture him.

I saw Lao Tzu. , I felt that his state of mind was like a dragon swimming in the void, which made me speechless when I opened my mouth, and I couldn't retract my tongue when I put it out. It made me uneasy, not knowing whether he was a human or a god. Dan is my true master!"

4. It is said that when Laozi rode a green ox through Hangu Pass and left a 5,000-word "Tao Te Ching" for the governor at Hangu Mansion, he was over 100 years old. The old man with gray hair and boyish face came to the government office to look for him in a swaggering manner. I met the old man in front of the government office.

The old man gave me a slight bow and said: I heard that Mr. is learned and talented, and I would like to ask you for advice. The old man said proudly: I am one hundred and six years old this year. To be honest, from my youth until now, I have been living a leisurely life doing nothing.

People of my age have died one after another. They cultivated hundreds of acres of fertile fields but had no place for them. They built the Great Wall but did not enjoy the canopy. They built four houses but ended up in lonely graves in the wilderness. . As for me, although I have never farmed or harvested crops in my life, I still eat grain; although I have never built a brick or tile, I still live in a house that is sheltered from wind and rain.

Sir, can I now laugh at them for working so hard all their lives, only to get themselves an early death? After hearing this, I smiled slightly and told the governor: "Please find a brick and a stone." I put the bricks and stones in front of the old man and said: If you can only choose one, immortal man, do you want the bricks or the stone?

The old man proudly took the brick and put it in front of himself and said: Of course I choose the brick. I stroked my beard and asked the old man with a smile: Why? The old man pointed to the stone and said, "This stone has no edges or edges. What's the use of it?" But bricks are useful.

I called to the onlookers and asked: Do you want stones or bricks? Everyone said they wanted bricks instead of stones. I turned around and asked the old man: Does stone have a longer lifespan, or does a brick have a longer lifespan? The old man said: Of course it is a stone.

Lao Tzu said with a relieved smile: Stone has a long life, but people don’t choose it. Brick has a short life, but people choose it. It’s just useful or useless. Everything in heaven and earth is like this. Although life span is short, it is beneficial to humans and heaven. Heaven and humans all choose it and remember it. It is not short even if it is short. Although life span is long, it is useless to humans and heaven. Heaven and humans discard it and forget it in a flash. Even if it is long, it is also short. The old man suddenly felt ashamed.

5. Prince Fu’s teaching method is very special. He does not just give lectures, but teaches on the spot.

Every time Prince Fu receives people, he asks the students to sit behind a screen in advance and not to talk or make noise, but to listen quietly. After receiving the various princes and sending away the guests, Prince Fu called the students out and asked each of them to talk about what they had learned after listening to the conversation.

The students are very modest and say that students dare not speak nonsense (because they really don’t know how). When it was Li Er's turn to answer, Li Er replied: The student's knowledge and vision are limited, and he can only express his views. Please correct me, sir.
