There was a thousand-year dynasty before the Xia Dynasty? China people don't recognize its existence. What is the reason?

Before Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, there was probably a "Yu" dynasty, which was established between Yao, Shun and Yu. Shun's full name is "Yu Shun", and he was born in the tribe of Yu, so the dynasty he established was "Yu Dynasty". China people and historians do not recognize its existence, mainly because they have not unearthed any cultural relics or sites dating back to the period. We can't arbitrarily say that this dynasty exists only by legends.

It was not until 1959 that the Erlitou site in Luoyang, Henan Province was excavated that the existence of Xia Dynasty was gradually known to people, and it was officially recognized as the first abdicated dynasty in the history of China in textbooks.

Before the Xia Dynasty, Yu Shun probably established the Yu Dynasty. During the Yu Shun period, there was a national political system, and officials were appointed according to different government affairs. For example, Dayu, who is in charge of water conservancy, has an ordinary position; In addition, there are musicians who master music and education, Hou Ji, who is in charge of agriculture, non-commissioned officers in charge of criminal law and Yan Naguan, who is responsible for issuing orders.

Shun also stipulated that officials' achievements should be comprehensively inspected every three years, and officials should be rewarded and punished according to the results.

In addition, Shun himself is also famous for his filial piety, which is very in line with the typical types of Confucianism. Mencius of Confucianism highly respects Shun's filial piety.

02. The Yu Dynasty may have been invented by Mohism in order to implement the system of abdication. Although Yao and Shun were mentioned in The Analects of Confucius, Confucius' disciples thought these statements were not credible. Before the Zhou Dynasty, there were Xia Dynasty and Yin Shang Dynasty, but there was no Yu Dynasty. This was invented by Mohism in order to implement the abdication system. People like Yao Shun are more myths and legends than real history.

After the Spring and Autumn Period, people gradually denied the existence of the Yu Dynasty and regarded Xia, Shang and Zhou as the rule of three generations. Especially in the troubled times of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it is difficult to preserve all kinds of historical records. The contention of a hundred schools of thought polished the story of the Yao and Shun period, and with all kinds of fairy tales, advised the monarch to implement benevolent policies, which made the existence of the Yu Dynasty even more confusing.

03. If a similar Erlitou site is found in the future, it can be confirmed that the real history of the Yu Dynasty is rigorous. Judging from the existing records, it is not enough to support the view that the Yu Dynasty existed exactly. We urgently need to find a site that is consistent with historical materials. For example, the discovery of Erlitou site made people see the remains and cultural relics in the middle and late Xia Dynasty and the early Shang Dynasty, and all walks of life officially recognized the existence of Xia Dynasty.

If the existence of the Yu Dynasty is to be widely recognized, it is necessary to dig a site like Erlitou, hoping that archaeologists can make a new breakthrough as soon as possible!
