Is there a cobra in Chengdu

There are no cobras in Chengdu. Cobra is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Taiwan Province, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other places in the south, and occasionally seen in the north, especially in Yongzhou, Hunan.

There are 58 species of snakes in Sichuan province, including poisonous snakes 15 species and non-poisonous snakes 43 species. Snakes distributed in Sichuan are:

Hook-and-blind snake, python, beautiful snake, black snake, rusty chain snake, brown net chain snake, Wawushan chain snake, eight-line chain snake, striped chain snake, Huaxi brown-black chain snake, twisted flower forest snake, sharp-tailed two-headed snake, emerald snake, yellow chain snake, red snake, double-spotted snake, golden snake, white striped snake and gray snake.

Purple-gray snake, black-backed tarantula snake, Xichang neck-edged snake, striped small-headed snake, decorative small-headed snake, mountain stream back-edged snake, blunt-headed snake, Fujian neck-spotted snake, Chinese oblique-scaled snake, mainland flower-tailed oblique-scaled snake, squirrel snake, Myanmar neck-grooved snake, northern red-necked snake and mainland tiger-spotted neck-grooved snake.

Living habits

Cobra often likes to live in bushes or bamboo forests in plains, hills and mountainous areas, and also often appears on hillsides, watersides at the foot of mountains, beside streams and fish ponds, in fields and near houses. This kind of snake has a wide range of food habits, including snakes, fish, frogs, birds, eggs, butterflies and scorpions. It is a diurnal snake, which mainly goes out for food during the day.

Cobra can resist high temperature, and can still move freely in the high temperature environment of 35-38℃, but it has poor tolerance to low temperature. I like to hibernate in groups in winter, and it is easy to freeze to death when the temperature is below 9℃. Cobra is highly toxic and will hurt people if provoked. It is one of the main poisonous snakes in China.
