Planning process of Beijing subway mountain back line

The mountainous area behind Haidian is an important base for high-tech R&D and innovation in Beijing, and also an important tourist area in the northwest of Beijing. Therefore, Beijing has long planned subway lines for this area. The earliest planned route to the mountainous area is the north extension scheme of Metro Line 4, which extends Line 4 from the northern end of anheqiao north station to the north, passes through Wangbaiwang Mountain in the northwest, and finally reaches Yongfeng Science Park. However, due to the operator and other reasons, the north extension scheme of Line 4 was abandoned, and the subway line planning in Haidian Mountain area was given to the north extension scheme of Line 9, which was quickly changed to the north extension of Line 16, and finally separated from Line 16 and became an independent line to open to traffic as soon as possible.

The mountain back line and the 16 line are composed of 8-card A-type subway trains (3 meters wide, 3.8 meters high and 22. 1 meter effective car body length), and the catenary traction power supply mode is adopted. Compared with the 6-card group B subway train scheme widely used in Beijing subway, it can significantly improve the capacity and operational efficiency.
