Why doesn't Tai Po admit that it belongs to Meizhou?

Tai Po people do not recognize Meizhou people, mainly because their dialects, cultures and customs are very different from Meizhou. Dapu county is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, bordering Fujian Province. Once belonging to Meizhou, it is now included in Guangdong Province, so people in Tai Po feel different from people in Meizhou. In addition, dapu county has a unique Hakka culture, and residents here mostly use Chaozhou dialect instead of Meizhou Hakka dialect, which also leads to cultural differences between Tai Po people and Meizhou people.
